How long before we see a redesign on the 370?
To answer the question with sincerity, I doubt anything will be changed for at least 3 years given the current world economy (Z's are sold in other countries too don't forget). Then you may see some minor changes. I also doubt the funny lights will go for the simple reason this model and all its subsequent model years on the market will likely be made to use as many of the same parts as possible...again economics.
But after that...THEN...we'll be talking a major design change. Likely a whole new platform and engine. If I were to ask a similar question, I'd be asking how long before the artist's conception gets leaked for the next generation Z?
The one I saw for the 370 in late 2006 was not very close but it did have much more fender flare and a sloping hatchback. What was missing was the funny lights, teeth, and 240 lines.

I think it is ignorant to say the lights won't change. The lights have always changed. It is one of the easier things to do to differentiate your product mid product cycle.
Nevermind the fact that auto manufacturers have been doing this in almost every model for the last 100 years.
Differentiating your product keeps new customers coming through your doors. Just because Nissan is on a boomerang kick right now doesn't mean they will be in 3-4 years.

Japanese automakers are having trouble simply because of the worldwide economic slow down. They'll bounce back when the economy does. They are fundamentally sound.
On the other hand, American automakers are not fundamentally sound. They can't respond to Japanese competition and their manufacturing processes can't keep up. Not to mention they are late to market with their green vehicles.
Besides, the product differentiation I'm talking about doesn't simply apply to vehicles, but all products. Laundry detergent, pharmaceuticals, computers, etc, etc, etc. It's a business practice which has been proven to work well. Yes, the 370 will indeed go through changes through its lifecycle, the easiest of which will be the lights.
