Just downloaded newest episode of fifth gear only to find out that they have a 370z, so i skipped all their crappy talk to the 370z part and they say they cant even drive it yet because it is a "pre-production car". Bummer.

Funny how they don't know anything about the car, only things that are on the brochure.

a very crappy version of top gear. Dull hosts, annoying accents and voices, nice car tests sometimes though. its a good way to pass time till new season of top gear comes out, but watching that crap is torture

same goes for top gear Australia, very crappy hosts that try to emitate james may, richard hammond (sp) and jermey

actually there's a lot of history of how fifth gear came about. it was basically a reincarnation of top gear when it died off the air in the late 90's..

 

Tiff and vicki (who present fifth gear now) used to host the original Top gear along with clarkson. but if you think top gear australia is bad, top gear USA is worse. i was in studio for their pilot taping and it was no surprise that NBC passed it up to go to cable tv. you just can't replicate the UK show and hosts

 

Not everything about fifth gear is bad. Tiff is an amazing driver and vicki's cute enough to watch.

Eh, I like Fifth Gear, also. They don't spend a whole lot of time acting silly/whiny/immature. Not to say that they don't. Most of the clips that I rip are from this show.

With that said, I like both shows. Both been around for a while, like a decade or so, I *think*. They have different formats and they are both goodly different.

 

Tiff Needell off of fifth gear was a fourmla one driver back in his day. he also raced in the 24 hours of le mans just to name some classes he was in. he is a hell of a driver.

Fifth Gear is a fantastic show. It is also NOT a crappy version of Top Gear, it is essentially a spin-off of Top Gear, because Tiff and Vicky once hosted the original Top Gear with Jeremy Clarkson. When Top Gear Version 1 was cancelled, Channel 5 released Fifth Gear, and then BBC decided to bring back Top Gear.

Both shows are fantastic in their own right. Top Gear is like automotive pornography. But Fifth Gear is far more professional and is essentially a car magazine in motion, with great tests and amazing driving skills. The presenters of Fifth Gear are professional race car drivers, we're talking Formula One type stuff.

 

i like 5th gear....not as much as top gear but its pretty fun....

Tiff is a very accomplished driver. They also have Jason Plato who was a BTCC driver. It's not as good as Top Gear, but it's not bad filler until the new season arrives.
