It's the little things...
However, there was a weird nagging uncomfortableness with the car when I drove it. I liked the interior updates, the power, and the handling, etc. But the car just didn't fit me. It was one of those weird things... most of it was the lack of visibility, both rearward and blind spots that made me uncomfortable.

Whats wrong with the guys write up? He has somep ersonal feelings in his summary about the car. About a Nissan car. About a Nissan 370Z on a Nissan Forum. Umm, isnt that what this whole thing is for? I personally liked the guys write up and could fully understand his perception. I however have not driven a Cayman so i have no Porsche to compare. I have driven a Vette and will buy a that over a 370Z anyday.
if someone is seriously considering this car they would do the same for themselves, just go do it.
some may appreciate the fact that hes trying to convey his personal thoughts on the car.
i, however, am w/ the group who doesnt need every joe blows personal feelings on the car & wheather or not it fits his personal lifestyle.
And just for the record, I'm not too proud to admit that I'm looking at 06 and 07 used CPO Caymans... which can be had for less than $45K, and extend the warranty to 6 years/100K miles - I think the Cayman is a great car, but no way I'd pay $70K for a new one. No way. So not a lot more than a loaded sport/touring/nav 370Z, which would be my equipment level of choice. Not to mention, I can get Nissan products at VPP... and I still chose a CS.
So I've budgeted myself ~$45K for a car... and I was disappointed in the blind spots, half the cargo space, and lesser performance. Maybe if the Z had come in as lightweight as Nissan hinted at, maybe sporting 340+ HP, maybe with a little more cargo room... who knows. But it didn't. And for those that haven't driven a Cayman, do yourself a favor and go do it. Then you'll see... until then, you're just talking out of your azz.
I have no doubt how badly the 350Z sucked when it came out... because I seriously considered getting one. But it was another short-hitter by Nissan, and that's why I bought a loaded G35 sedan at the time in 2005.
I've never driven a Gallardo, or any Ferrari or Lambo. But I've driven pretty much every other sports car out there, though. I guess working in the performance industry will do that. I've put over 60K miles on cars with 650 HP or more...
The 370Z is a good car for the money. Good job, Nissan. Not great, but good. And who wouldn't like to see the Z with 200 pounds less weight, no blind spots, and twice the cargo room? Just curious...
The blind spots are just something you get use to when driving the car daily. After awhile, you just don't notice it anymore. Perhaps you turn your head a bit more or lean more when changing lanes, but you can have full awareness of your surroundings just like any other car.
But really, some of people in this thread are way to sensitive.

On my Z32 and my 350 I have the same blind spots! To solve this problem all you have to do is go to your local auto parts store and purchase the small round blind spot mirror for 1.49 and stick them to your mirrors in a location that works for you and voila! no more blind spots! I have owned practically every Z made and to my knowledge there has always been terrible blind spots!
Hey, not sure if you guys have seen this, but seems like the JP spec has a rear camera option.

Given: The 'vette IS faster. But, that's where the good news ends. Nissan is MUCH more reliable than GM. Also, you get better MPG. All taken into consideration, I'll take a 350, a 370 or a GT-R!!! any time, over a 'vette! I do recognize it's a subjective topic, and opinions vary
from person to person.
from person to person.
