Default Price... Hah

I do my car shopping on Sunday's, but besides the point, the new Nissan dealership here in Norman, Oklahoma, had a chicane yellow 370 sitting on the lot. The sticker price was $34k, and they had a "market adjustment" of additional $2000 onto the car. So that bumped it up to $36k. I thought that was pretty much ridiculous. They're adding $2k, and for what reason? Demand? Riiiight. I hate stealerships.

Find another dealership. There are plenty selling at MSRP.

Yeah they had a $2500 "Market Adjustment" here in Raleigh... Market Adjustments + Current Economic Environment = Dealership FAIL...

Default Blah blah blah blah...

Look, I got my 370Z the very first day they hit dealerships, FOR INVOICE.

All these threads bitching and moaning about how dealerships are doing what they always do is pointless. Just start negotiating and get a good deal that you can live with and stop complaining on the forum.

It's nice to know what dealers are doing, but it isn't news by any stretch of the imagination. Let us know when you buy one if you got a good deal and refer the dealership/salesman.

2k over invoice, in this market? Doesn't sound very smart.

Agree. Sellers are free to ask whatever they please. Buyers are free to make whatever offers they see as reasonable. Is the a great country or what.

Stop complaining about asking prises, and start making offers.

I just got mine ordered at invoice. I could've bought any of their 370Zs on the lot for invoice as well but they didn't have what I wanted.

We'll definitely be seeing price at or below invoice at year's end.

What new, highly anticipated car doesn't have a mark-up? For comparison, the new Evo X was marked up into the ionosphere, but now dealerships are bending over backwards to get customers into the car, well below invoice. Kick back and relax, the 370 has a good 5 years left in production, mark-ups won't be on them forever.

As others have said, quit bitchin' and start negotiating.

In case you haven't noticed, there are any lines in front of dealerships with people waiting to buy cars.

I don;t understand about all these markups. In Maryland I see lots of dealerships selling 370z for 2 to 3K below MSRP.
