Default Should Nissan make 370 targa top instead of roadster?

I've seen the pics of what the roadster would look like and I'm not impressed, however driving 2 past Z's with T-Tops, it's kinda hard to go back to a solid hard top.

So instead of Roadster, would you guy's prefer targa top? I think that would look wicked.... I don't know how to setup a poll so if a mod does that would be cool.

Yes / No / Maybe???

The whole thing is pointless since they DIDN'T make it one and it's a little late for them to change.

There was a huge discussion years ago regarding a 350 Targa. Obviously it had no effect on Nissan's planning. Targa's just aren't that popular anymore. Hell, when was the last time you saw a car produced with T-tops???

Yeah, I used to have one too - in 1985.

I don't think they've made those in a while either.

T-tops, Targas, Bell bottom pants, hula-hoops, ..... everything has it's time then they fade away.

You DO know that Pontiac is shutting down, right? Probably not the best example of why the 370 in a targa would be a good idea.

IMO, the current trend is toward retractable hardtops.

The C6 Vettes w/ Targas are selling/sold pretty well...once the roofs stopped flying off at higher speeds lol. W/ that said Targas fill a niche....but it's a small niche at that.

They should work on the head/tail lights and the over heating first.

They will bring back the targa once you decide to get a mullet and put a monstrous bird decal on your hood.

Here, let me make it easy for you guys. Read these and you'll understand why there will never be a Targa top Z.

https://my350z.com/forum/exterior-an...ing-taken.html
https://my350z.com/forum/exterior-an...for-targa.html
https://my350z.com/forum/exterior-an...-top-350z.html

While the current poll statistics are favorable, when it get down to the nut-cuttin, not enough interest and commitment (i.e. putting your money where your mouth is) spell death for the idea.

Do a search on "targa" and you'll see how popular the debate was, but only a handful of people have actually turned their Z into one.

I would like to see the glass roof of the Mustang as an option as well.
Also, the targa doesn't have to be the same targas of old. They could keep the sides and just remove the roof section and keep most (all?) of the strength while still having the open air feeling.

I don't care for targa tops. Sure, they look great on a rusty Firebird, but I'll take a hardtop instead. Even an aftermarket hardtop would suit me fine.

Corvette, Porsche 911.

Beyond that Targa was always a compromise between a Convertible and a Coupe.

Today, Hard-Top convertibles have taken over. SC430, BMW 3-series, SLK, SL, Pontaic G6, Volkswagen EOS, Mazda Miata, Caddilac XLR et al....
