2515, JEESH way lower then what I thought it was
Wonder what the racing weight once its together will be....

That car is going to dominate some track days if you guys keep that as low as possible and have the planned 350whp...so cool

two things...

1 - it took you so long to post because you were looking up that .gif

2 - I wouldn't call it weight reduction just yet as the car has no brakes, no wheels, no exhaust and no glass. i.e. it isn't a car.

when you replace them with the components you are going to use, then you can claim weight reduction!

or I'm just bitter because I was over.

Seeing as how it still needs exhaust, glass, seats, cage, brakes, etc

I'd say 2850........light as hell. We should start a new guessing game for that.

hehe..I can't get anything by you. The idea is get the car is uber light as possible, knowing we'll be added a bunch of things to it from this point forward. If we can end at 2750 dry, with cage, seats, safety gear...ready to go, that will be a huge win.

The 2515 also included a full tank of fuel, which is about 100lbs of weight.

A 2800 lb car plus TT would be un-freaking-believable

that seems doable. are you putting a fuel cell in? that could save weight if you remove the stock metal one.

I think that's a pretty good guess. I'll guess 2851 assuming I'm the last guess. I think it'll just squeak at 2900# with a full tank myself. If they do some trick fuel cell with 5gal of gas or something, I'll tack that back to 2785# or so.

I can die happy now, Sharif is professing the virtues of N/A, WOOT. Of the thousands of ttrack miles I have my car has only had to be parked three times. Once was a throttle body failure, and at that I didn't carry a spare. The 2nd time was a incident with a tire wall, driver error, and the last timie was when the power steering return line failed at CMP.

I street mine all the time in SC, it is pretty lax here. No inspection no emmisions. All I have is tail lights, I don't have any headlights, wipers, horns, heat, A/C, dash, none of that junk. Never even been looked at be the police. You are more than welcome to use my address to register the car in SC if you want.

The project is looking good so far. Will you be rolling 17s for the cheaper rubber or 18s for the look? With that kind of weight 13" brakes will probably be enough, it also weighs less than the 14"s. lmk when you get it on the track, I'll roll out there with ya, help ya shake it down.

BTW do you still have the shell from your 350? still wanting to get rid of it as a roller? PM me about the roller is you want to unload it.

Seems you have built a car similar to what I'm moving towards. Do you have a link to a build and/or progress post progressing your own car, spare parts to have, trials and tribulations, learning curve, etc., etc.? I've been learning the hard way (first not having enough back-up pads, second not having spare rotors, third not having spare plugs, fourth ? ? ?).

haha..you are right. The car will actually be insured and titled/tagged as well. How funny would that be.

Yup, the roller is still available!

Never mind then, disregard that last e-mail. Who knows maybe it'll rain again next year.
