i have an 05 base 350z with 43,000 miles and complete custom interior. Thinking bout trading it in for the base 370z. How much should I expect to pay for one?

 

lol,Sherman oaks CA,i live near here and i just finished looking at them a couple of weeks ago.expect to pay 34K+ for a base,and much more for other options.

Look up invoice at edmunds.com for the exact car (options) you are considering. Shoot for $500-1000 over invoice, which should be $2-2.5k off of sticker at best.

Base Z + Sports package for $500 UNDER invoice using USAA Car Buying Program. Built the car on their website to my specs and it put me in contact with a local dealer who honored the certified price.

 

Ooh, good deal. No others strings? (i.e. no clunkers program, no trade-in, no financing by NNA, no other fees, etc., etc.) The dealers CAN make $ by honoring a quick sale under invoice, especially at the end of the month when they are trying to meet #s. Nissan, as many manufacturers do, has a 3% holdback. So they paid 3% less than invoice for that vehicle as long as it's been on their lot for less than 30 days. Ball park is that they made ~$500 on your deal by simply accepting the quick offer.

Base plus Sport with destination charge and nothing else:
MSRP: $34,950
Invoice: $32,581
Edmunds "fair price": $33,153 (Wow, less than $600 over invoice)
Your barometer: $32,081

Very tempting. I considered the base since the VLSD likely needs to be upgraded, but $3k for the wheel/brake/aero package is hard to beat. One can piece those parts apart for about that much, maybe more.

 

I paid 29,700 for my base Z.

 

you really can't answer this question specifically since the price will range between 2-4k depending on where you live...it'll be more expensive to get one in Cali vs. a person living in, say oklahoma

LOL I agree there are much better options if your spending $43k. But a glorified grocery getter with runflat tires and a crappy fuel pump? And unless you buy one with zero options cost much more than a (over priced) Z. A comparatively optioned 335 would cost (OTD) about $50k. Also..Chip the car and goodbye warranty. Well at least you didnt say Vette

Nope, no strings. Went in with my own financing and no trade-in. It wasn't only the base model either, that's just what I wanted. Even had a program rep call me and ask if I was happy and that the dealer honored their certified price. You can get what ever you want or option from any manufacturer. Will even factor in factory incentives if they are available (none on Z). Only sticking point is you have to be USAA Member but maybe some other banks or insurance companies have a similar program.
To top it off, since i'm military I tagged and titled the car in Ohio from California since Ohio exempts military from sales tax on cars saving me another $2500. $31,700 off the lot.

 

Awesome. I think our Credit Union has a similar program. I'll have to check into it more deeply if I'm going to pull the trigger.

I was getting $32,081 for $500 under invoice. I wonder where the other ~$400 is coming from. Did you pay less on the delivery fee?
