Default Local dealer's inventory puzzles me.

The local Nissan dealer has had two '10 370Z touring roadsters in stock for at least five months. Now they've added a '11 touring roadster. All three are AT cars. I haven't seen a 370Z coupe on the lot since early summer.

In the same period they've sold several used 350Z coupes, indicating some demand for Z coupes.

Why would they get only roadsters when they're not selling?

Of course, they've had a '10 GTR in the showroom for a year now. They took down the fence around the car, so they must be getting desperate. Maybe it's time to flash some cash.

For reference: I have been in the car biz for 7 years. Everything from salesperson, floor manager, and general sales manager.

The guy who orders the cars is usually the gsm. Sometimes these guys order cars like the Z for what they would like to drive. The non-enthusiast guy always wants to order the glitziest version. They don't realize what most Z buyers are looking foor. And when they sit and no one bites on them they don't get to order anymore of that model line until they sell off the botched orders collecting dust......If your local Nissan store is small volume, this scenario is very likely.

The used inventory is handled by a different manager, usually. Used car managers are more in-tune with the market. They know what's hot in any given model line.

Moral of the story: Get a GTR!

One of our local dealers had a GTR in the showroom for over a year. They recently put it outside near the street of all places. I guess with the 2011's coming soon they've got to make room.
