Doubtful it was a dually. There would be 3 tracks opposed to 2 (don't forget the front tire), plus the tracks lose their symmetry around the red circle which suggest a 4 wheel vehicle. I think the snow plow theory is unlikely due to the damage. Other points of interest:
- the tracks stay the course suggesting it was something very heavy that moved the 370 with no wheel hop on impact.
- the 370 is a low car and the damage is around mid-bumper which may exclude lifted trucks.
- from the pictures, it appears that you can identify slow speed tire tread. I doubt this vehicle was sliding out of control.
^^^This.
I was going to say the same thing until I saw your reply. Probably not a dualie as the wheel marks come together in at the end as seen in the first picture. Also the tire tracks seem really far apart for a dualie.
But I definitely agree that it looks like it was intentionally pushed back. Not collided with. The nature of the damage and remnants of the taillight plus the lack of skid marks seem to suggest this.
Bodywork turned out well. Fit and color match are spot on. Thanks to Bob Bell Nissan, Baltimore and State Farm for the hassle free fix. Dropped off the Z and picked up a rental. 7 days later dropped off the rental and drove the Z home. Out-of-pocket cost $250.
NOTE FOR THOSE WITH OR CONSIDERING DISCOUNT AUTO INSURANCE: My premium is $1,048/year. Considerable for someone born in 1949. Still, you get what you pay for.
Congrats, Glad it's fixed. Good job on the color match. I was rear ended last year in my dd and as hard as they tried, couldn't match the color of the body to the bumper.

This is still a new car, so the paint hasn't faded much if any at all. Color matching is much easier on newer cars.
Does this look intentional? Like a truck pushed the Z slowly into the hill? Damage to rear bumper is minimal.
That's what I was thinking. If there was a sudden impact the bumper would have more damage. The damage that I see on that rear bumper looks like someone intentionally nudged or accidentally pushed the car. It can be that a snowplow or garbage truck or some kind of maintenance vehicle got too close to your car and grazed/pushed it.
I would look for your paint on utility, maintenance, and co-worker vehicles. If you suspect a maintenance type vehicle, then you should be able to find out what services or maintenance was done on that day or night and hunt down who performed said service and which vehicle was used. You can easily narrow down the possibilities.
Hard to believe that was a plow, I would imagine there would be far more damage from the plow itself. Looks like someone purposely pushed the fkn thing.
