It is actually over sized... The fix involves putting a weaker spring in. Or just taking the spring out all together like i did. It really is not a big deal, and takes 5 mins to take off... Once its off there are no issues with feeling

 

What other problems are you talking about? The helper spring is there to make the clutch pedal softer and easier to engauge so your leg does not get tired in bumper to bumper traffic. It does not serve any other purpose, and honestly nothing is affected by taking it off... I would like to know where you are hearing this from

 

The clutch feel on the '13 370Z is identical to my '08 350Z. The clutch on the '04 Z I had was very stiff in comparison. Very stiff.

 

My Z is the first manual Ive owned. I had no idea the clutch was different until someone pointed it out. I have the RJM assembly for my 350z, which is adjustable and has no spring. Perhaps someone makes something similar for the 370.

Regardless, I drove my buddy's wrx and couldn't believe how awesome the clutch felt. Hardly travels at all (from foot off, to fully depressed). Made me very dissapointed to hop back in my Z....

 

The 350z clutch is ridiculously stiff. I always thought it was silly that my 350z clutch was twice as hard to press as my brother's 911. The 370z clutch is a relief for me.

 

You should try a C5 Corvette.

I had a 2001 Z06 that used to give me leg cramps to work the clutch.

I felt like I was sitting on a leg sled/ squat machine working my left leg only.


I agree the 350Z clutch is a bit difficult in feel compared to many other cars I have owned and driven.

I just took it to my buddy's garage last week, this is a guy who works on cars for a living, and drives different cars every day he is at work, and HE stalled it a couple of times pulling it over bumps/ramps to get onto, then off of, his lift.

 

Sounds like the car either had signs of CSC failure if the clutch was dropping easily. The stock clutch on these cars is actually pretty tight, and that is why they began selling the Century Springs to assist in engagement points.

So far, knock on wood, there dont seem to be any issues with using the aftermarket spring, and in my car it is great even with my upgraded Southbend Stage 3 -Organic - SS FW and SS CSC

Maybe I should elaborate. Women complain allot. I'm sure they complained about the stiffness of the clutch to Nissan, and thus you have a ***** clutch now. Personally I like a clutch that's hard to engage...keeps the g/f from driving the car.

 

Biggest reason why i went with a 350z instead of a 370z. not to fond of electronic rev matching.

 

The base models don't have the rev-matching and you can easily turn it off on the Sport models.

Whenever i clutch in on my 03 passengers head would bobble. But its smooth through the shifting. I prefer that than no feedback.
