I don't understand why people get so bent outta shape of mag comparisons. Shouldn't it only matter what you think about a car? I know people are going to blast me for this, but I've never been a big fan of Porsche and/or BMW.

BTW-even funnier is the 12.1 @ 115mph 1/4 time. I believe most preproduction crazy #'s were obviously massaged to impress. I have yet to see a production GTR trap over 120mph.
I read the article. They said a 3rd GT-R they've tested matched their previous 11.6 @ 124 time. This example they got from Nissan for this comparison was a 'press car' with over 3500 miles on it, and the drivetrain they said seemed like it spent pretty much all of those miles being launched repeatedly. This car wasn't at full strength. And it still beat the M3 and Turbo around the track.

BTW, a friend of mine wasn't too high on it until he saw it in person at Zdayz. I mean I liked it but seeing it in person is way different. I sure as hell wasn't the G37s much until I saw them in person.
Saw an M5 yesterday on the island I live on, all black, guy had to be 95 years old I was so sad, but he revved at me, and got on it a lil it was pretty cool, lol.

After doing the research, it turns out that all three cars cruising speeds are 60mph @ 60mph. So they are equal by that comparison.

I can see the commercials now: "The all new Nissan GT-R. Even when bruised and battered, it'll still sh*t on your Porsche or BMW."

I really thought about the buying the GTR but couldn't get past the looks and the fact it will be pretty much impossible to find one anywhere near it's $70K MSRP.

I may be wrong but i think a Porsche costs more because of all the customization one can do like different colors for different sections of the interior, etc.

I would get any of them if i had the money. If i was really roiling in the dough like in my dream last night, it would be a gt2 and a gt-r in the driveway.

As for the magazine bias, who cares. If i listened to the magazines i probably wouldn't have bought a Z

This should be a warning to all prospective GTR buyers thinking it's the ultimate supercar, with only 3500 miles the car already was developing problems. Enjoy launch control cause it seems it only has xx amount of launches in it.........then have fun trying to get this super expensive trans convered under warranty.

Oh and C&D comparisons turn to **** when BMW is involved.......I don't think a Bimmer ever loses a comparison.

It's not only about the raw numbers, which you constantly fail to take into account. I would take a 911 TT over a GTR/M3/Z06 anyday.

+1. Something the 997 TT fans fail to realize. The GT-R is the best of both worlds. It's angular and sharp lines give it a far more aggressive look than a 911 and it has the performance to back it all up.

G35 killed the like 13 year streak of the 3 series for that class...

as for the GT-R looks we all know they designed it from hours of wind tunnel tests which is fine with me, but i still think its a nice looking car although the 997 turbo is gorgeous...

Given the choice, who the hell would take an M3 over a GTR or 911?
M3 isn't even in the same class!

well if you dont like a rice mobile (gtr) then the m3 is the nice choice. Also if you have a family m3 ftw here as well.

*disclaimer* i like the gtr but to me its styling is a 1 out of 5. Id rock it any day of the week still.
