<== Based on a guy that can't afford any of the three.
I used to like M3, I think is a great looking car. But after I drove one of my friends M3 I feel a little disappointed. The power it makes doesn't really impress me at all. I guess I was expecting more. To me, it is an overprice 3 Series with a V8 that is already over price by itself.

911 is one of my all time favorite, but working in Irvine/CA where 911 are pretty common. It feels like if is not turbo/GT3/GT2, it isn't a head turner anymore. I think I paid more attention to a Corvette than a 911 nowadays.

GTR - A super car with a mixed feeling on its design. But for the money and also the reputation. This is my pick for the three. I am sure after a few exterior mod. This is definitely a head turner with power to back it up. Not Mod friendly? This is the GTR we are talking about, I am sure it will have a lot of mod just like its predecessor.

For my pick GTR > or = M3 > 911 (Please don't flame as this is only my opinion)

All good cars, but I'd discount the E63 and M5 are not even close to the kind of cars he originally listed. The S5 is a good suggestion, but doesn't seem quite as sporty or aggressive as the cars he listed.

see even on a Nissan forum this is hard to debate lol...

I said the GTR was not mod friendly not because of the lack of the aftermarket (I'm sure it'll pick up soon enough), but the ecu itself. I don't want to have to send my ecu out for a reflash just to slap on some Volks, or lose my suspension dampening system just to go lower, etc etc...

Just ball out and go for a 997 TT

How can you possibly resist a car like this

you can when you take out the CGT every other weekend... My dad had a Carrera GT here, and shipped it back to Asia where he lives... Before we shipped it there, I used to take it out quite a bit. Before that, he had a 996 GT2 and a 993 turbo before that. So I'm not trying to outgun everything to have the fastest Porsche, I just want something that handles like it with the flat six sound....

hm...and I thought the c2s was on the bottom of the list for me.....

What I really think is that if all are equal (selling at MSRP and no wait time), I would pick up the GTR. But I just can't justify the mark-up and the wait, thus I'm looking elsewhere.

If its what you really want, just wait a little

It's not like I'm getting the car tomorrow. I'm still in the beginning research phase. I'm going on all the forums trying to find all the faults of each car. The M3 is on its first year run, and there have been A LOT of problems with the fuel pump cyphoning.

The GTR is of course still too new to have deep reviews to see the negative aspects.

As someone suggested earlier...I'm looking into the C63AMG now too. It's cheaper than all the other options (not like it matters at this price range..it's about getting what I really want), but I'm ruling it in for now and going for a test drive in the next couple of weeks when the local dealer gets one in. I know the regional fleet manager really well so we'll go dick around in one and see what it's like at the limits. From what I've gathered so far, it's a lot more brute force than the M3, but less refinement in the handling category.

So this is where I am now.

Got a few interested people on the powertrain on my Z, or maybe the whole car...but we'll see.

Edit: Good read ---> http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=126394

Not being biased at all, I'm gonna have to say GTR. I wasn't even gonna pick it until I saw your pros and cons of each car and what you're looking for. My first choice before reading the 1st post was gonna be the M3.
