Sounds like you just need an intake, exhaust, reflash, better tires and a set of swaybars to have your true "supercar". That's more than can be said for most cars in that price range. Congrats.
Good review but from what I read it seems it is a car that you can get bored of real quick; based on the "connecting the driver to the machine" description you gave.
Interesting review. I guess it sort of hilights the debate between all out pace and technology vs. good old driver involvement, even if it sacrifices a bit of performance.
rwd vs. awd, traction, power delivery, powerband, gear ratio, final drive, launch control, etc etc...
plus I never really dragged the Z since the build. Got a 11.3 @ 123 back when I had about 500rwhp... But I don't expect it to be much faster from a stop with 760rwhp. On the highway, it's a different story.
It's not the time it takes to get there...it's HOW you get there. That's what I'm going for.
Yup, you're definitely getting old. Great review, I thought it was very honest, and I liked the fact that you compared it to cars that are performance equals, not cost equals. apples---->apples. Having said that, you're a very lucky man to have driven all those other cars as well.
Great Review...as you know already your Z is what dreams are made of, and for you to get a GT-R, and still like it is something that can be said about the GT-R. That it can be liked/loved/driven without a stick...can't wait till you and the rest of the former Z owners now GT-R owners start to mod...good luck
I'm comparing this to my 420Z-TT, as well as a host of other exotics and luxury cars I've driven including (Ferrari Enzo, Ferrari 599, Ferrari F430 Scud, Ferrari F430, Ferrari 360, Ferrari Testarossa, Lamborghini LP640, Lamborghini Gallardo, Lamborghini Diablo SV, Porsche CGT, Porsche 997 Turbo, Porsche 997 GT2, Porsche 997 GT3, every car in the MB / BMW line, etc etc...)
Great review, but I want to hear about the other cars you've driven. Which one stands out the most to you and why?
That is the most negative review I have heard so far for this car, and it wasn't bad at all. Nice write-up though! I never came from a 760whp 350Z, so I doubt we'd have the same perspective on the GT-R.
