NITROUZ - My review of the GTR
#43
I didn't drive all of them "all out"...just lucky that most of my family members love cars and can afford more than I can lol...
Most of the cars require too much "effort" to drive, as in unwanted attention, care in where to park, staying in your lane, watching out for stupid drivers, etc... But what I really like is the CGT. It's raw. No assistance. Clutch is hard. Power is immediate. Very "old school" in the driving experience. But the thing is, you can't drive that everyday. So the GTR is a great compromise between that type of car and a daily driver. In my review, I've posted mostly performance-related points, however, the ease-to-drive factor would allow the GTR to win hands down.
I didn't go all out in the Enzo at all. it belonged to a friend of my dad, and he just tossed me the keys to take it around the block. I didn't drive it too hard, but felt where the power would be and omg is the sound unreal. It's a full on race car. A little too much for me even. Maybe I'm just not at that level yet to appreciate such a vehicle to the full extent in regards to driving experience, but it's a crazy car.
The Scud COULD be a daily driver considering that you have a secure parking area wherever you go. It's easy to drive, and again, power is immediate. Sounds exotic. But very tame if you want it to be. Handles a little harsh (like other supercars) but it's "accurate". Handles tight enough to make you want to use all 3 (or 4 or 5) lanes to drive like a race track...if that makes any sense.
I think I made a good purchase overall, as this is what I needed.

YOU my friend are a legend. You owned the only z to bring tears to my soul and now the only car that would complete me before death. Seriously though your z is the only reason id rather buy upgrades than a new gtr AND you have driven all my dreams! haha If i was rich id own a fleet of nissans.

That is a fantastic review. Basically everything I thought I'd feel myself if I bought the car.
Going to keep waiting...see if a manual ever rises up, but even if it doesn't, I too would like one for a daily driver. Hope it gets a bit more "comfortable" in the following years.

Nice review.
I saw my first GT-R today in my way to work. It was a white one driving down an avenue before the freeway. Kinda strange because the part of the city where I saw it was pretty hood/ghetto.
He was heading the opposite way and I thought about busting a u-turn and getting infront of him to show-off the GT-R badge I have on my '94 Sentra that I put back there when I was 17.

Well Alex, I am not really surprised at your review.
Drop in the AP, with an exhaust and you will get around 60+whp increase on the Stage II.
I can tell you just adding the Stage I was a definite difference. I have let 2 of my friends that own GT-R's and they have both commented on the much more agressive acelleration with the AP tune.

A friend of mine is getting a brand new Z this coming monday (10-20-08) so I tagged along to the dealership and saw a black GT-R w/20" gunmetal factory wheels. I have to say IT IS ONE BEAUTIFUL CAR!!! I couldn't blink my eyes until we left the dealership. Pictures do no justice.
O yeah, nice write up.
