What's the more wise thing: buy a 2012 or a 2009 with a goal of 600awhp?
I'm trying to figure al this out. Looking for a weekend fun car and maybe a few trips to the track. Should I buy a 2009 for 55-60k and mod the transmission and engine to 600awhp or a 2012 for 70-80k and just mod the engine? The 2012 and up transmissions are supposedly more robust. Anyone have any idea? The gtr forums I find are pretty dead.
I would go with getting the 2009 and upgrading that. Part of the fun of these cars is modifying them and making them personal. The more work id put into the car the more id love it.
That's what I'm thinking too. They are very similar and the upgrades would be extra safe. But then I would be tempted to go even higher in the power......agh.
I'm still reading and looking. It's tough because there aren't any gtr shops near me but jotech. Whatever I decide I'm going to have the car shipped there to get everything done at once. If I do the tranny and engine at once I'd like to keep it under 30 grand.

If Jotech is near you then these guys are too. Both of the guys I know who have GTR's went here, and one guy said they are better than Jotech from what he's seen online.
