Roll bar/cage?

Roll bar/cage?
Has anyone upgraded the Z Roadster roll bar system with a cage and/or bar? Can it be done and still have the top operate the same? If so, and you have some pics and info to share on doing it please share.

I know some people take the factory roll bar covers off and have the bar painted or wraped in neo-prene. The bar itself is quite small(about that of a bicycle frame). I have not heard of anyone putting a full cage on a roadster...

I've seen a roadster that had that done and it did look cool but it didn't improve the function of the system.
There are some tracks that won't allow the Z roadster to race because the stock roll bar doesn't measure up (height and strength). If the roll over protection system is improved by a cage or beefing up the stock roll bars will the top still operate normally?

If you open your top to the point where it's out and the tonneau is still up you can un-velcro the black vinyl that the top sits in and see the bars coming down to the frame.
It seems like it would be a pretty big job to cut out the old bars and weld new ones in. They appear to be worked into the vehicle with small clearance of other parts.
