Has anyone removed the 25lb dead weight from the front?

Is it really necessary? I assume its function to balance out the extra weight in the rear, but would removing it help the car to understeer a little less?

I'm having an APS TT kit installed and the weight you're talking about had to be removed to make room for the intercooler. My installer said that the weight of the intercooler would make up for the loss. I'm not sure why it was there in the first place. Probably to balance out the extra weight from the top motor/mechanism.

I think it's there to help dampen vibration. Ford did the same thing with the sn95 Mustangs, big 25Lb weights. As the car resonates(SP) the weights dampen the vibration.

I heard about these. Supposedly there's some in the back as well. Next time I have my front bumper off their coming off for sure. I think he said they were under the headlights if I'm not mistaken.

Actually it is down low near the undercover, just to the driver side of the oil pan. Big Black 25lb block of metal.

This was take from the driver side with the front bumper off and undercover off. Weight is in the middle of the pic. Roadster only, not the coupe.
