BTW: Found the feathering issue on All tires when my wheels were pulled off to replace with new BBS type (04.5 ZR) at 9,252 miles. I Just had the car in for 7500 mile service at 9,162 0n 1/6/05 and they told me all was Good with my ZR (I specifically asked service manager on 1/6/05 at dealer about the feathering issue on 04 before ordering my new rims/tires on 1/7/05 - he claimed it does not exist on the 04 Z's). Talked to a different dealer today about this issue via phone, after reviewing SB #04043 (03 SB) & SB #04054 on Nissan site. Will be pursuing this matter with them. Will get into details later on... as my knee surgery tomorrow will hamper my progress...

Those look nice!
As far as feathering on the '04'2, I had mine done and they replaced the front tires. No hassle at all, and this was from a small dealer in Roanoke Rapids, NC. I didn't buy the car from them. Brought it in at ~ 9000 miles when I noticed the noise from the tires. The checked it out and ordered me new tires. Had the repair done ~17000 miles. I'm at 28500 miles and so far no return of the feathering.

Thanks
Yeah, the new tire rubber looks really really dry I know (two of them were in storage since Feb & May 03 according to their Tire ID numbers - other two since May 04). Was going to put some stuff on sidewalls yesterday, but knew I would be covering my car up today for awhile...

Just finished polishing the paint, seats, wheels, etc. and putting the cover on, cause I head to the hospital for left knee work at 1pm today...

Will do what you suggested later on.

I'm glad you live on the other side of the country. You and I got exactly the same car, along with the same tires/wheels combo. I don't have the burnt orange ventilated seats, though....

That’s quite a coincidence! Considering the sheer number of wheel choices available. Same SB Color, Wheels, Tire Brand and sizes! You must have Great Taste! - How about posting a picture of your car. Maybe we will both see each other at a Z event some day, like Z Day perhaps.

Does your black Z paint chip as easily as mine? Already have had to do touch-up paint on hood & bumper twice so far. Am going to have ZR fully repainted by a highly recommended pro custom guy in Frederick MD in about a year. Not crazy about putting any type bra on my car, but will be checking out the clear type at that time.

An Important Question: How do you like the ride with those BBS Wheels / Tires on, compared to the OEM? Not sure if you also had the 18” OEM’s as well. Only had a brief chance to drive mine so far (with new stuff on Wednesday), and will have to wait awhile now before I can do so again.

BTW: Have not seen another SB Roadster around in my neck of the woods so far, in fact have only seen One other roadster in Southern Maryland (a Lemans Sunset) which I believe may belong to another member here (boldenmd – will have to ask him one day if it’s his Lemans). And have only seen 3 coupes (red, silver, black), seems Z’s are still a rarity so far around here. Will always spot quite a few coupes closer to the D.C. area of course.

Additional Note to: milanista

Just checked tirerack.com

Our choice of BBS rims went up $93 for the front 8.5's and $94 for the rear 9.5's, since I had placed my order on 1/7/05. That makes two price increases just since Jan 7th... Yow! Guess the first minor price increase was not enough...

Order on 7th - lucky break for me!

Have mods in mind, but that is not one of them.
Thanks for your thoughts anyway...

Congrats on the new rims, I actually need to replace two of mine, are you looking at selling your OEM's, if you have the 17's I'd be interested.

I had 18's OEM on my ZR (All in Excellant Condition)

Touring 18": 26.565 lbs
F-18x8, R-18x8 (Purchased my ZR 3/20/04)

As far as selling them, probally will eventually,

Thanks Anyway!

congrats! i'd be weary of the S-03s though. there have been some quality issues with them lately....and they are soooooooo heavy! kinda make getting your those light weight wheels pointless....

Read the thread link, looks like something might have been rubbing (clearance) perhaps to cause that to happen...sorry for his trouble, but do not see that particular incident as substantiating "quality issues" with the S-03's.

Offset and clearance are Not an issue with my setup.

My BBS Wheels were chosen for their style/looks/reputation, not their weight, the fact that they are lightweight (in comparison to the stock 18" rims) is of course a plus. The S-03 Tires were chosen as an alternative to the stock RE040. I did compare tire ratings, tread pattern, reviews, test results, etc. with others, but did not break out the bathroom scale!
