Convertible Top Question
I just picked up my Roadster last wee. 2005 Touring. Love the car but have a question:
Does anyone see WRINKLES in the top when it is closed?
I see them over the outside corners of the rear window.

Yes but they usually disappear after a few minutes of having the top closed.

There seemed to be a persistent wrinkle in one of the spots you're talking about on my '04 roadster. I never thought of it as a problem, though. If it worries you, ask your salesman or service advisor to take a look.

A few wrinkles are fine, so long as they do not leak when it rains. You could send it in to get tightened up, but that might cause more troubles than you started with. I don't think they can stretch the top out as much as on many other verts due to the way the window is installed. On most other cars, the top is two pieces (not including the headliner), with a main top, and a window panel. On the Z, it is all one piece.
Yup, there are some wrinkles but nothing that ever concerned me at all. My top stays down so much in the spring/summer/fall, it is bound to have some wrinkles and some hang in there for quite a while. I don't think you have a problem. Pictures??
I get a few wrinkles around the top edge of the rear window, especially after having the top down day after day, and then putting it up. Most of them disappear after a few hours. I agree that stretching/messing w/the top is likely to cause more problems (leaking) than it's worth. Don't forget, it's a soft top, and the top is there only for inclement weather and security--the car looks best and is more fun to drive with the top down anyway.

I usually have a few wrinkles here and there. Last summer I figured the heat would sort of "iron" them out. No such luck, so I got used to them. Then the other day I noticed all the wrinkles are gone -- the top has been up for several months and I guess that did it. When I start using the top more I suppose the wrinkles will come back.

Try wetting the top with water and let it sit in the sun.
Should do the trick. Worked with my dads Porsche.
