Gas Mileage: My first day trip
Well I finally had a chance to get my ZR out on the road this weekend. We went up to Flagstaff to visit (& feed) our son who is going to school up there.
I put about 300 miles on the car. Phoenix is about 1,500 feet elevation & Flagstaff is about 7,000 feet. Pretty decent elevation gain. It was all freeway driving and I kept it between 75-80 all the way (except for the slowpokes going up the hills in the left lane).
When I got home my trip computer showed 24.5 MPG and I calculated it manually at 24.2 MPG. I will admit that I am not one of those 'spirited' drivers, but I seldom let anyone pass me this weekend. All in all I was very pleased with the mileage... and it is a GREAT ride on the open road.
