Roadster weight puzzle
I recently took my 2004 6mt enthusiast roadster to the dealer for an oil change. While there I picked up a copy of the new 2005 350Z slip-case brochure. The Selection Guide inside has a specifications page that at the bottom lists curb weights of each model.
The puzzle is that according to the specs the 6mt enthusiast roadster weights 3,225 lbs - same as the track coupe. However it indicates the touring 6mt roadster weight is 3428 lbs vs the 6mt touring coup at 3247 lbs.
It also lists the enthusiast 6mt coup weight at 3197 lbs.
Why would the enthusiast roadster weight be only 28 lbs more than the enthusiast 6mt coupe when the touring 6mt roadster weight is 181 lbs more than the touring coupe?
I had always read that the roadster added 200 lbs to the car - but these specs don't seem to support that.
If the 6mt enthusiast roadster weights the same as the track coupe, the cars should run 0-60 in equal times - I don't think cd differences with the cars would effect 0-60 time - only longer runs, maybe the larger wheels and tires contribute.
Any help?
