Heres the practical advice:
Im with the guys above on getting a beater first, modding and then getting a better car. lol, I had a chevrolet corsica when I first learned how to drive, and I damn near tore that thing to shreds I wished I had a better car at the time, but it was good that I had the POS, as I did some stupid stuff in the chevy, and if it had been faster I would have killed myself. Also, if you wait till you have to pay for the car yourself, then you have much more appreciation for it IMO
Heres what I would do:
if my parents were willing to pay for a nice car I sure as hell would take up the offer and get the nicest car they would pay for
lol, im not much help....

four wheel drive will help you not loss it...but might make you feel over confindant.
i do think it is very possible that you would not damage the car but i say you have at least a 25% chance and thats giving you the benifit of the dought,
the most likly case that will happen is you will get a big big three digit ticket, or multiple tickets. then your insurance will be kinda high untill your like 25. and thats money that could have gone to mods.
also you might want to get a beater just for one year before this car. odds are you could bump somthing. just a little but it will make you very sad.
but if your gona get a fast car right off the bat then i say go evo.

youd be surprised about how much people dont care about what kind of car you have, the fact that you have your own car is all they care about
get something that is not expensive to mantain and doesnt smell funny
other than that no one gives a **** what you drive, and to tell you the truth, the less looks you get the better. cops bother you less

don't end up like this kid....
He had his car two days. barely survived. then his parents bought him a vette to replace it. i was in Colorado springs when it happened as well...
Hit a tree going about 120.... there are a bunch more, but i cant find them right now... i will keep looking

I have been looking around at cars and I also really like the eclipse...it is cheap and the hp is not bad..one turbo upgrade and i can be up to 300..this will probably be the best choice for me..what do you think?

^^^^ Mitsu dealers are at the bottom of the customer satisfaction list. I had a GSX and the very first time I took it in for waranty work, the tech asked me "Is this glued on or screwed on?" ( body cladding). Car never went back there again (Dan Georger Mitsubishi, Bflo "Mr. Mitsubishi" ha)

at 16, I would get the Evo.
More power.
At that age, they both look good.
But most importantly, the back seat. It will come in very handy later.
Also, you can carry more people and have fun with your all your friends.
Oh, and the back seat. Mmmmh...
