Since all I'll see outside is snow...sitting in my ZR and starting it will be like a "mental vacation".

I wouldn't start it unless you ran it long enough to blow all the water out of the exhaust and combustion chambers. When a cold engine warms up, a lot of water condenses in the exhaust and if you don't drive it enough to get it out it just sits in there, causing corrosion.

Bottom line is I am in my 50's, always liked cars and if I don't do my thing now --when will I do it.

You said it!!!!! There comes a time in life, when you can't keep just thinking about the future, it's time to do it now. I am married with 4 kids and I went out and bought a two seater convertible + $20,000 in mods. I have always loved nice cars. I used to own an Audi S4, but that still meant when we went anywhere as a family we would end up taking two cars with my wife driving one, and me the other. We decided to buy a Honda Pilot, that nicely accomodates all 6 of us, and still has enough cargo room for a ski weekend. Since I no longer then needed a 4-door sedan (albeit, a VERY fast one-I had it modded to well over 400hp), I bought my ZR ( never owned a convertible before, always dreamed of one). My wife and I make it point to get away just the two of us once in a while to keep our sanity, and the ZR fits the bill perfectly. I also get up early some weekend mornings and just go out driving on the vast network of country back-roads near where I live.
