Default Tire Noise Warrenty Extentsion

Ok I need someone's help... Just got a warranty extension from Nissan in the mail about Tire Noise Growling.. Says that it covers alignment and replacement if needed subject to tire tread depth. I call the dealer and he tells me that alignment won't fix it and they have been rotating all the tires for a cost of 65 dollars to me, since, conviently the warranty doesn't cover rotation. Secondly, if the tires are simply rotated then the problem will most likely reacurr after the extended warranty has expired? Anyone else been told by the dealers to take that action? Thanks

that's bs, bro. I got the same response from my dealer this week. They told me the tires were worn because I did not rotate my tires according to my maintenance schedule. Therefore, I needed to pay for rotation, new tires and alignment. First of all, they're directional tires that are wider in the back....you can't rotate them. And it never says anything about that in my main. schedule. They're just giving you the run around. I argued with my dealer for 15 minutes until they agreed to fix the problem according to the letter/extended warrenty. Now I can't believe the difference in my car. The growling is gone....for now.

Stick to you guns. This is a flaw in the design of our suspensions. Nissan finally admitted to the problem and so should your dealer.

the letter i got in the mail said, they would replace my tires for free with a tire that has a different/better tread pattern to correct the problem.

Default Tire Grown Problem

Ok well went and had a few words with the dealer which ended up with me walking out after he proceeded to tell me that the reason for the growl was because I had not been rotating my tires. Kindoff funny when you consider that no where in the maintenance book does it require any sort of tire rotation. I'll be filing with the BBB. Anyhow, he told me that they would not replace the tires with the "new" tires mentioned in the extended warranty letter and that he would only put on the same tires at 100% cost to me. Second, he said that doing an alignment would not fix the problem and the only way to would be to rotate the front two tires for 65 bucks to me...And that it would have to be periodically done every 6000 miles! Never heard of rotating tires like that and it doesn't call for it in the maintenance book so I proudly walked out on him and they won't be getting my business... If anyone has any other options I would be glad to hear from ya

He's an idiot (like most of the dealerships). Got to a different one. The tires are not the be rotated nor does it state that anywhere in the TSB. The fix is Replacement AND alignment. The replacement tires are still the RE040's.

No cost to the customer except beyond a certain mileage/months (I need to re-read it).

Get a copy of the TSB and take it with you to the next dealership.

that's unbelievable. They know what the problem is, they just don't want to fix it. They'll lie right to your face and insult your intelligence just to get some money. If they fix this problem, it doesn't cost the dealer anything. They're reimbursed by nissan for all warrenty procedures. I don't blame you for going to the BBB. Whatever happened to catering to the customers needs? That's part of the reason why we pay for these cars. You would think that this letter from Nissan would have made this easier.

Default Tire Warranty Extension

Good news everyone. Went to another dealership. They checked the tire growl problem in accordance with the tire warranty extension nissan issued and also inspected it with the TSB. The result? .45mm out of specification on both tires. They gave me brand new factory tires, alignment, and toe adjustment free of charge. I can't describe the difference. Its amazing. Virtually no noise at all at low speeds or high speeds. Reminds me of the day I bought it. Keep fighting this issue if your dealership refuses to fix the problem in accordance with TSB NTB04-043. Thanks for all the posts.

Default Replacement Tires

I had my 03' Z aligned and tires replaced with new RE40's as described in the latest letter I recieved from Nissan offering the extended tire warranty. The noise is completely gone and the car is quiet again....yea! But for how long? When I asked the dealer how to tell that these where the new redesigned RE40's they just shrugged thier shoulders and said, "That's what Nissan sents us" LOL. So now how the heck can I tell if they installed the new or old design?????

Guess I'll try call the Nissan Consumer Affairs number, but I'm not expecting much more from them.

Chuck

Default Tire Feathering

I took my car in to get it checked. The service rep initially told me that I would be getting new tires. They then called Nissan tech support (giving them the benefit of the doubt). Tech support told them that my tires were exhibiting normal wear and therefore not eligible for free replacement.

What’s up guys,

Does anybody have a copy of the application I need to fill out to apply for tire reimbursement. I know it came with the letter about the extended warranty, but I lost mine. Maybe someone can make a PDF copy and post it. Thanks.....Please help.
