Default Front Reflector Install

What's the easiest way to change out the orange reflectors on the front bumper?

You can get to both by removing the front wheels and pulling the wheel well liner out. The driver's side isn't very hard at all but the passenger's side is a burden because the windshield washer resovor is located right behind the reflector. You need to simply remove two screws and the things come right out. A right-angled one is best for the passenger's side.

Mod's might move this to the Modifications/lights-interior-exterior ... forum as that's pretty much where these tips can be found.

I just replaced the amber reflectors with clear last weekend. I suggest you perform a search on this topic because there is a wide range of advice. My conclusion was that a consensus formed that the passenger side cannot be replaced without doing one of two methods (because of the washer reservoir). The alternate methods are to (1) partially remove the bumper skin on the passenger side in order to pull it back for access to the reflector. Or, (2) remove the bumper skin entirely to replace the reflectors and then reinstall it.

It seemed to me that by the time you have done everything to partially remove the bumper skin (method 1) you are very close to complete removal (method 2) anyway. Therefore, I elected for complete removal. It was not hard or complicated to remove or reinstall. (Note that, contrary to some of the information you will find, there are three, not two, fasteners next to the headlights.)

With either method, I recommend that you give yourself plenty of time so that you do not scratch anything in haste. Having done it once, I could now perform the reflector replacement with full bumper removal in an hour or less, start to finish. But, first time out, it took me about three hours of cautious fumbling around.

It is a rewarding project; my clear reflectors look far better than amber on my super black Z. Take your time and have fun with it .

I just went through this process yesterday.

The drivers side can be done in about 10 minutes but the passenger side took about 1 hour and was definitely taking my time.

Search the site and the best instructions were tied into EVO.

Good Luck!

I installed mine in less than a half hour. It was easy with a lift and a socket wrench with a screwdriver bit. I just removed the splash shield under the motor to get access to them. It was a little difficult to tighten the screws on the passenger side because of the washer fluid tank but with the right tool it isn't too bad.
