Default Winter Storage

I have a trickle charger from a Porsche that I used to own....Can I use it on my 2005 Roadster by plugging it into the cigarette lighter? Are all trickle chargers the same?

If I can not use my old one , what type should I buy and whre is a good place to find one?

I've never used one of those that plugs into the lighter, but as long as it's 12V, it should work.

If the trickle charger worked on you Porsche, then there is no reason that it would not work for your 350z.

The newer chargers are less damaging to the battery, so if yours is an older version you might consider getting a new one.

I use the Battery Tender Plus - see their web site for further info. http://www.batterytender.com/

I use the battery tender on my motorcycle. The nice thing about it is once you hook up the quick connector, its very easy to connect/disconnect. With the kind that plugs into the lighter wouldn't you have to keep your window rolled down a bit?

I'm looking at the batterTender product. Do you need/have to disconnect the car from the battery, or do you leave the car connected in parallel with the charger?

No need to disconnect the battery from the car. For the storage months, I connect the batt tender to the battery posts, make sure there is no short any where, and run the wire up by the windshield and down the side of the fender. Put a car cover over the car. Plug the tender in once a week.
