http://www.sgi-online.de/web/stratus.shtml
I looked into this company a few years ago when I had my Sebring vert. It was going to run about $2800 plus shipping, which would have amounted to about $800 as shipped by boat. For the Z, it would be cheaper, and maybe a little cheaper on shipping, but you pay by volume, not by weight. They could very well be your only option.
Also, I can't read the site, but you can get an idea.

Thanks buddy, I can't make out what it says but seems like they got no 350Z tops either...

Only if Nissan consider this option!

They didn't have one for a Sebring vert either until someone spoke with them about it. Not exactly a high volume item due to the shipping costs, but if you want it, they have been the most receptive to actually doing it.

Here in Europe many convertible (& roadster) owners have a hardtop on their cars, due to the weather and usage. Factory options from Porsche, Opel, Audi, BMW and even std on some earlier MBenz SL models. For certain soon a manufacturer will start to produce this item. ZRoadsters sales are not really fantastic by so far in Europe, introduced since 11 months ago.

There is very low probability that a manufacturer would build a hardtop for car model that is offered from the factory in a hard-top/coupe.

off topic but,
I think the Z roadster would look sweet w/ a retractable hardtop!

Actually, it would more or less be driven by demand. It has absolutely nothing to do with if the factory offered a hardtop/coupe model. Money and desire talks. Most of the mini 4X4s were convertible from the factory (ala Jeep Wrangler, Suzuki Sidekick, Isuzu Rodeo, etc.), and had a hardtop version available, but aftermarket companies still came out with hardtops for them, because they were in demand. Show that it is profitable for any company to make them, and it is possible....for the right price.

IIRC, the S2000's hardtop costs about $3k and adds about 50 lbs. to the car.

I like how they show you cars they can do this on yet only have really bad photoshop jobs of the cars they allegedly did. Check out the GTO vert on there, and go back and forth between the third and fourth pics, and look at the brick wall in the background behind the front seats. Yet another good one is the 4 door to 2 door MB vert. The front door gets shorter between the last two pics.

It seems you are right.....your'e only going to get one chance to do it right. This is the kind of mod you need to TOTALLY research before letting someone...dare I say it....CUT YOUR BELOVED Z. Maybe you can give them a call and ask for references. This would be an awesome mod. Even better than the lambo door mod that's so popular now. This kind of mod is not only useful but really COOL!! Good luck on your mod.

Try this guy on the Solstice forum/Sky forum
http://www.solsticeforum.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=10605
http://www.skyroadster.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1920
Prices aren't too bad.
The ZR, Sky, and Solstice all have the hard tonneau cover, so the design should be similar.
Why not give him a shout and let us all know how it went.
Surely, there must be more ZR out there than the newly released Solstice and is the Sky even out yet?
