Default 19" wheels on a roadster

Guys,

It looks like I might be trading in my Z coupe for a used roadster . I am still undecided if i want to put my 19" volks gt-7 diamond black on it.

If I do, it means that I have to lowered it (again) using the hotckiss springs that I have. My other concern is theft with the roadster be an easier target I guess (or at least they can cut the top).

Any suggestions?

Btw, I am in socal.

Tony

if they cut top, a person would have to be really skinny or lower a child into the car, I have not measured the bar in between where the rag top sits but it is quite small for a normal person to get through

As for the rims, put them on stock just does not look good on the Z IMO.

agreed. the roof bars on the Z are pretty close together and look pretty sturdy. wouldn't worry about theft. Anyone older than about 7 or 8 years of age would have a hard time getting through the top.

People could always break into your Coupe through the windows.

Sam405,

I live in a house with a garage. I will be working in a private college campus.

you just worry too much. Keep in mind, the Z is not in the top 10 stolen cars list.

go for the ZR.. i love it n there r things u can do to discourage theft.. custom alarm, tinted windows, locking wheel lugz, or a car cover if u dont have a garage.. so far, no problems with mine and i live in an apt.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about it much. If a thief wants any car they WILL take it, no matter what kind of car or security you have. I have seen cases where they even stole the alarm along with the stereo and everything inside! I haven't had any problems (KNOCK ON WOOD!) and I live in an apt in Los Angeles.

I think you should go for the roadster. Theres no better feeling than driving top down upwards of 300 days per year in SoCali, and not too many cars that look as good with the top down either. I have GT-7's (Mercury Silver) and love them on the car.

at 80mph, you will hear the noise of the wind.
