What's wrong with the Bose system?

You mean besides the fact that it sucks? Hehe... jk. Its actually not completely terrible, just not worth it IMO. I'd say its somewhere in between an Accord and TL's system. For the price of moving to the touring model, its easy to get a much, much better system. I personally plan on spending about $550 for aftermarket leather (no heat, unfortunately), which leaves me about another $1500+ to put in a nice aftermarket sound system.

I think it depends on your "ear" and what you expect from a car stereo. I'm not too demanding of any system. I got the Bose with the car (which I didn't order; it was on the lot) and I'm quite pleased with the sound. When you come from a '90 Toyota Camry almost any system sounds good.

I totally agree. With sound systems, its hard to have an appreciation for the differences between them if you've never really heard a good system. And even after you've had a good sound system for a while, your ears get used to it and it doesn't sound quite as good as you initially thought it did. That is, until you go back to the stock system and realize how good you had it. It probably sounds confusing and stupid but that is the way I really feel about it after having numerous systems in my previous cars.

Default I just ordered my first Z

I just ordered an 06, Silverstone, Touring Roadster, 6-speed with the burn orange ventilated leather seats and navigation system. I spent two months trying to find this combination with no luck. The dealership took my order last Saturday and my car will be here in August.

I have not seen any Z with the burnt orange interior on the roadster, Im nervous now that I ordered it that when it comes I will not like it.... I think Im just getting paranoid.... Im sure I will love it.

If you find out you really don't like the burnt orange, I'll gladly trade you for the black one's out of my nearly new (1,100 miles) '05 ZR.

You will love the vented seats...I have had a Silverstone burnt orange and nav. I was lucky enough to one of the first ones allocated to Canada 3 years ago - but I spent a year waiting for the car.

Having vented seats is great - they really help to keep you cool, never burn your *** on the hot leather, and comfortable too. The orange is also a nice addition to the orange lights and instrumention. I am sure you will love it.

I had to wait 4-5 weeks to get mine from shipped in from Atlanta. I am in East Tennessee and there seem to be plenty but few in the colors that I wanted and a base Enthusiast package.

How much did you have to pay out the door, if you don't mind me asking?

I got a vpp code that they gave me for the same exact car for 40k out the door

$40k OTD is about right for a GT Roadster with Nav... with the VPP discount...

I'm so jealous. They did not have the burnt orange seats when I got mine.

If it makes any of you guys feel better, I ordered ours in early spring of 2003, when they first started taking orders for them. It did not come in until November of 2003, about 6-months later. It's a 2004 Touring 6-Speed with Nav, Silverstone with Burnt Orange Vented Seats. Luckily when it came in we had a nice weekend and got to enjoy it till Sunday night. Monday it snowed.

If I were to do it over again the only thing I would change would be to not have the Nissan Nav. It's nice but if you plan on upgrading the stereo you can do better and use less space. The cubby is a great space for gauges too.

All those who have taken delivery congrats and I'm sure you are enjoying it. To those who have orders and are waiting for delivery, it is worth the wait. And if anyone is reading this who is considering buying one and has not pulled the trigger yet, Do It! You only live once and this is a great car.

Thanks,
Gary

Ive got the super black roadster with the burnt orange seats and I matched it up with a real wood dash kit that matches the orange seats from new york city dashes. Be prepared to pay top dollar.

The ZR is a different animal from the coupe. Hardly ever discounted and rare. Worldwide production is 5000 annually, I believe. I, myself, like the exclusivity. By comparison, the BMW M3 has a worldwide distribution of 8000. The Audi S4 is 5500. Pretty good company.
