Who knew the '06 ZR was so hard to get??
where you getting your numbers from? i would be willing to bet that there is more produced that come into the USA than what you say is world wide.. i could be off base but im just going by my numbers we sell. but we sell about 40 a year. and then you figure 2000 dealerships across the country. some will sell more some will sell less. but 5000 world wide seems awfully low
Only thing I could find was Nissan sold 36,728 350z Coupes in 2003...
In comparison..
2003 Ford Mustang - 140,350
2003 Corvette - 27,974
2003 Acura RSX - 24,292
Hey John, how many 350z Coupes do you sell a year? rough number will do..

I read somewhere that 80% of the Z production is sold in the U.S. If you look at Nissannews.com, and look at the monthly sales figures, it appears that roughly 2 - 3,000 Z's are sold each month, sometimes a bit more. The chart doesn't break it down by coupe and roadster, but as a guess, maybe the coupe outsells the roadster about 5 or 6 to 1? So, let's be generous and say 40,000 sold per year total, that would work out to maybe 6,000 roadsters and maybe 30 - 34,000 coupes.
Take 80% of those world-wide 6,000 and you've got 4800 sold in the U.S.
Just a guess, but probably not too far off.

So about 1/3 of the 350z's you sell are Roadster's... I read that Nissan sold over 100k 350z's in its first 3 years (2003-2005), since the roadster didnt come out until 2004 the 2003 #'s of 305z's were coupes only (which was 36k) so they sold 46k 350z in 2004-2005 model year. If we use your dealership as the typical percentage of roadsters sold, that would mean Nissan sells around 7.5k roadsters a year in the USA. Although this is a really rough number
Although im guessing your a fairly big dealership, if you figured in that 1/2 the dealerships out there are about 1/2 your size, then it could be that only about 4k-5k roadsters are sold a year in the USA

I think your math is a little off. He said he sold about 40 roadsters and about 120 coupes. That's a total of 160 Z's all together.
40 (roadsters) of 160 (total) is 25%, not 33%.
Anyway, same conclusion, roughly 5,000 or fewer roadsters sold in the U.S. per year.
