Bike Rack on Roadster?
I have went through all of the old posts on the availability of a bike rack that fits the Z Roadster. 2 different racks have been discussed, the "Hunch" rack and the Bird Rack - Has anyone tried either of these racks? If so, have you had luck with them and how easy was the install. There may be some other racks out there, so if you have had luck with any of them please let me know.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Well, I have a Roadster and I have a new Mountain Bike, so it would be nice to take it to a variety of places for riding.....that's why I want a rack! Can't seem to find one that works with the Roadster so if anyone has any information it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Hi Foleyf, first of all if you bought it, do what you want with it. with that said ,I have a 06 coupe and I wanted to carry my bikes(mtn, road), I do triathlons. I didn't want to put any thing on the paint that could scratch it. So I made a removable 2" receiver that can be easily be unbolted when not being used. if you want more info let me know.

Never thought of a bike rack for my ZR...
You said you saw this right? It says it folds flat to fit in the roadster when not in use...

I, too, would like to find a REMOVABLE bike carrier for my roadster. I don't need anything permanent...just an easy way to get my bike from home to the lake. Preferably without scuffing any paint.
The "trailer hitch" style racks look sort of difficult. I don't want to mess with the lines of the car. Are there any trunk-mounted systems out there that'll carry one bike?

See the other post, Yakima, Thule and Saris will only say that you can use the trailer hitch option which is out of the question for me. If you find something that works post it since I bike about 150mi a week and would love to be able to take my bike and the Z out on the weekend together.
I have a ford f-250,audi s4, mercedes cls 500, 350z convertible. All the cars besides the Z have roof racks. I really like the bike rack for the Z. bs3w please let me know how you did it.
Thanks.
Thanks.
i recently got a new bike as well, and would love to be able to get a bike rack that could hold 2 bikes on it that could go on my roadster w/o scratching up the paint.
i don't know why you other guys are so upset about how it looks, I love the Z and how it looks, but putting something on it like a bike rack temporarily to get to where you want to bike would be awesome to be able to do....enjoy a nice ride in my roadster, and then bike around and drive back home....
anyway...any more info would be appreciated!

Nice work bud! As a very avid bicyclist like yourself, I would have no qualms about doing something like what you've done in order to carry my bikes to events.

repeated from another thread on same topic (just saw there are two threads--sorry for redundancy):
i've got a t-bird but considering a z. for short trips now i just pop the mtn or road bike in the trunk & bungee it shut. but i've recently early retired and so am planning summer-long road trips to the northeast, northwest, canada, maybe western mountain areas of u.s. am considering a vertible z with some kind of hitch assembly to bring at least one bike along.
when i asked a local dealer about it he put his nose in the air and said "that defeats the purpose of a sports car." to which i responded "i don't need to pull a travel trailer; it's a bicycle." i'll be paying cash. but i guess anyone that stuck up doesn't need my money.
I race road, and was totally looking forward to driving to the Sunday races in the roadster, so I was looking at buying the Bird rack in the spring.
ANYBODY have any experience with this rack, I am sure a lot of guys here would like to hear from you??
But man they got us by the B$lls !! $450.00 ????
