Yep... ever driven a Corvette convertible? That's a blind spot nightmare.
Might be even worse with the 350Z since you sit so low in the car.. especially if you're under 6 ft tall.
Maybe the real version will have little port holes like the Z32 convertible did.

I hope that isnt how it is with top up... the blind spot is gonna be HUGE. no port hole window? the custom one didnt have one. you couldnt look next to you for a car.

just a thought
How hard could it have been for Nissan to design a hard top convertible? Imagine how sweet it would be to not worry about someone taking a knife and carving there initials into a soft top...let alone the more durability in a hard top versus a soft top. It would be great competition against the slk and any others that have managed to achieve a hardtop retractible design.

hard top conv = $$$$$
as it is ...this model will be ~$40K.
an S2000 is $32K and a boxster is ~$45K....a hardtop 350z would be ~$55K and weigh ~3800lbs.

I think thats all a bit high, the conv as is will be under 35 AT MOST, of course you can maybe run it up to 40 with everything. but you can get it for less.
hard top wouldnt have to weigh too much more, conv will weigh more too. the bulkier engines would weigh a bit. I think the biggest problem is that hardtop=NO TRUNK. you gotta put it somewhere... so when the tops down it can be like the SC430 which is like envolope space.

Just talked to a sales person at my local Nissan Dealership. They said the convertible will be available in July. He had no other info what so ever on it. He didn't even see the picture yet!

I think I would be more excited about the roadster, if it had a removable hard top. Like the s2000. I am not a big fan of softops, so if they offered a removable hard top I’d be all over this. But as it sits, the coupe seems more appealing to me. Maybe I’m just asking for too much… What do you all think?

This one looks like it has leather and the 18" touring 6-spokes - which means its a touring based vert. auto touring is $31.3K, while the 6MT is $33.5....so do the math!

think it looks kida gay with the soft top i hope they offer a removable hardtop for say 3000 a power hardtop would make the price out of hand.
and a glass window is a must with a soft top.
interesting question will it affect head clearence most convetables with the top on for anyone 6' and over there head is at the very least scrapping the celling
i however am not a convertable person i prefer the open road with a harley.

Beautiful! Now I only have 3 questions
1) What's it look like with the top up? (Nice photoshop, but I want some actual pics!)
2) How much is it going to cost?
3) When will it get here?
