Default Have you lowered your ZR?

How many ZR owners have lowered their car? How low did you go and with what brand?

This will help newbies like myself looking for a setup for their ZR. Thanks

I lowered my ZR 1.3" with H&R and koni's.

Not lowering mine, mine are just fine with the stock height. Why do you guys want them lower? I can barely get into the wheel well when cleaning!

Man Zand02max that looks nice. I thought about lowering mine but hell I nearly scrape everything. I can't imagine how many things I would scrape twere I to lower it. Then if I were to put a kit on it - oh hell. I think I am going to go with either Dubs or 19s and then put a body kit on it.

If i lowered it and had a kit on it I would drive it like it was a dang Bentley.

I hate the bodyroll you get with stock suspension. Not to mention the car looks a lot better. I plan on get sway bars next.
Jason, from Performance Nissan said you can install the Nismo S-tune on the ZR. It has a softer feel than, say, when installed on a coupe.

If you guys are scraping with stock suspension then you guys have some seriously steep driveways or are driving way to fast when going over speed bumps or driveway approaches... Mines lowered with the Nismo setup and I never scrape on anything...

I think you have to figure out the best angle and progress slowly.

Bubble - You have the Eibachs for the roadster or the coupe?
Where can I find some pictures of your car from a side view.

I have lowered mine initially with TEIN CS coilovers with 19’s and sway bars for roll. I initially dropped the front -.8” and the rear -1”. But found this to be unmanageable when I put the bodykit on. I had the front raised to about a -.3” drop from stock and the rears adjusted to about a -.5” I will say that the ONLY way I can get over speed bumps is to adjust my dampeners to their hardest setting. In fact I think my fronts were adjusted again because of all of the weight in the engine bay and I might either be at stock height or maybe even higher.

Keep in mind I have the 3” TD exhaust w/bigger piping and cans. I also have the ARC Aluminum undertray and my car weighs in at a hefty 3800 lbs because of all of the aftermarket stuff I have.

BamBam - What are your springs rates for the Tein Flex. I'm looking at the Flex or the HKS Hypermax RS. Have you tried anything else?
Whose else has Coilovers for their roadster?

Bubble what coilover would you plan or purchasing?

Five0: Here is Tein's site with specs. http://www.tein.com/ti/p26.html I have the CS w/EDFC and generally ride with it set in the middle for reasonable comfort. When doing the 1/4 I set the back to softest and the front to mid hard. When running on the streets or mountain roads, I set the rear and front to mid hard.

CS uses 7mm/390lbs springs whereas the FLEX uses 12mm/760lbs springs.

Hope that helps. Oh, and I went straight from stock to this w/Hotchkis sway bars.

I kept mine stock to go over dips and bumps fast. It's fun to watch ricers next to me have to angle it when I can off road.
