Exclamation Do you leave your top down when you park

Kind of a dumb topic but I never leave my top down when I park my SB Roadster.

I worry that some punk will throw a cigarette in and burn the mesh seats.

Or, that someone will steal my sirius radio (too easy to steal but too hard to hide)

What do you do??

Sometimes I do if im only going to be a few mins in the store, but I mostly put the top up when I park... Don't want to come back and find some big bird turd on my seat.. Especialy when I park in the Harbor, damn seagulls..

I don't have a roadster but, I would never leave my doors unlocked when I park, kinda the same thing. Like you said, I would be worried about what I would find when I got back to the car. Aside from the a-holes, what about the possible bird poop?

If I'm going to be more than a few mintues I always put the top up. I'm not as worried about vandalism, but bird crap, rain, wind and dirt etc..

Same here. If it's just a quick run-in to a convenience store or something where I'm going to be just 5 or 10 minutes, I might leave top down but ordinarily I put it up. Sometimes I'll leave windows up but top down, and locked. That would deter the casual onlooker from opening a door and grabbing anything (not that I leave anything of value on the seat - only a visor, usually.)

We timed it recently - takes 18 seconds to go up or down. Seems a worthy investment of time.

Its crazy to go to the mall or out to eat and you see all these nice converts with there top down. I would never leave mine down, if i had a roadster.

I just saw one those Newer Audi convertibles at Home Depot. He pulled up in the space in front of me w/ his top down and just got out and went into the store leaving it down..windows down also. You are just asking for some azzhole to throw a Slushie or something onto your interior.

Well, who knows, but in that situation, in the parking lot of a big box store, I would definitely put the top up. If the car is out of my sight, top up. If there are lots of seagulls around, most definitely top up!

Only 2 occasions when I leave my top down: when I go into a convenience store for a minute or when it is in the garage at my job(heavy security). I have seen a couple ZRs with the top down at the mall.

Yep compustar with 2 zone perimeter and range extender. I just dont leave anything in the car that would be easy to grab and run with.

I used to leave the top down ALL the time, but recently I have been putting it up for just the reasons people have mentioned. They haven't happened to me yet, but decided I was done tempting fate.

why not. You buy a convertable. What is the point of top up?

it also depend on the area where you live. I have buch of audio systems, CF door panels and side kick.etc but never have a problem with top down at the parking lot before.
