Default 06 Headlight Cracking....

i've only had my car for about 3 months and there's this weird cracking inside the headlight assembly. i brought it by HERB GORDON Nissan, and they're claiming that it's normal... i would like to know if anyone else is experiencing this... here's some pictures...

+1 try a different dealer if yours is not willing to work with you.

i was trying this afternoon to get them to reason that it is a defect. to drive the car off the lot and come back within three months... that looks bad... gotta call them up tomorrow and find out with NISSAN is going to do. so far, the service advisor says that there's a chance they will not replace it... it's not like i drove in to something or something hit the lenses... obviously the cracks are within...

They WILL replace it, as it is obviously a manufacturing defect. Go to a different dealer and see what they say. Threaten to approach NNA directly about this if they don't budge.

They will dude. They will have to like you said there is no damn way that that should be taking place. My friends G35 headlights would fog up an they fixed it and didn't give him hell.

My 06 lights had a problem too, but it looked like there was some sort of film dripping down the inside of the headlight lenses(and there was a hair in one of them). The local dealer called Nissan to approve the warranty work(as headlights are expensive for them to replace, and without authorization Nissan may not cover it...forcing the dealer to pay for them) and they would not cover it. They didn't believe that there was a hair in the light or that there was a film inside.
The way they got Nissan to cover them was to create a new file saying that there was condensation in the lights and put that file through the next day. Apparently Nissan puts this type of problem through right away...

The Ultra-Violet protection coating on the lenses (to prevent from yellowing) was not performed well.
Common problem on plastic lenses, not only Nissan.

Thanks for the a little sign of relief. Seems like they never want to cover anything.

Dealers really pi*s me off. Thats a warranty issue if I have ever seen one pal. How can they say thats normal? Do not accept that it is cause it aint. Tell them to walk you through their showroom and show you how many zeds have this 'normal' problem. If you find one that has it I would be very surprised. Go get em buddy!!
