I need some pricing input on a new 2006!
We live in Bellevue, WA and are planning on buying in the next couple of months or so. We are trying to find (ZR) either a Silver alloy/Frost interier Touring w/ Navigation, Tiptronic, splash guards, side airbags,matts/etc or a White/Frost interior Touring (same equipment). I am currently working a dealer in CA for a great deal but haven't started hard negotiating yet. The number he gave me for either ZR was $37,885 which he said was $10 under invoice as the MSRP was $41,085. He told me that Costco buyers pay $500 over invoice so this is the best price. I doubt it, but what do you think?
And where did you buy your Z if you got a super price? We will fly anywhere on the west coast to drive back if we get a great deal and exactly everything (colors, equipment, etc)
Eager to hear from you Z-lovers, especially ZR's...

I don't know if thiswill be helpful but I'll throw these thoughts out.
*You say you're looking to buy in the next couple of months. I believe that will be about the time the "07s will be coming out. A year ago when the '06s came out Nissan put a $1,000 rebate on "05s. That may be worth waiting for.
*Having said that, the longer you wait the greater the chances the won't be able to find the model you want.
*Invoice pricing is easy to confirm on such sites as edmunds.com.
*While you're on edmunds, I believe there is a link to get quotes from local dealers. Let dealers bid for your business.
*I have no experience with Costco but I seem to recall a post recently stating Costco was $500 over invoice. The dealer may be right.
*Looking on Autotrader.com may show you some West Coast dealers you can contact.
Good luck.

Bellevue, WA huh
With all the rain you won't be driving with the top down much... I lived up in Pullayup several years back and had to come back to sunny california, the constant rain was to much...

If it were me, I'd go for it and be done with it. It's possible to outsmart yourself trying to get the very last $1 off a price. If it's good enough - then go and start enjoying your car.

bought a red GTR, 6 MT in May and paid invoice. Went through about 150 dealers in 5 states on-line to find what I wanted. Got the invoice deal on the phone and flew to Knoxville to pick it up. It's easy to search the dealers on line then call for their best deal. Why bother calling dealers who don't have what you're looking for in stock?
I picked up my 05 Roadster Tourning fully loaded for $500 over invoice. It was right when the 05's were coming out and the dealers didn't even have them yet. I picked all my options and it was factory ordered. With that being said, there is no reason you shouldn't be able to pick one up for invoice...especially if the dealer has it on their lot.
On a side note, we just bought a 2006 Toyota 4-Runner and paid invoice for that as well. The MSRP was $45,500 and the dealer said he would go down to $44,700 but that was it. I printed out a copy of the invoice cost listing from edmunds.com and had it with me. I pulled it out, added up the base price and options at the invoice cost and told them this is what I am willing to pay. He was gone almost 45 minutes and came back and agreed. Granted, the car I wanted was on the lot but I still got it for invoice.
I will never pay anything above invoice for another vehicle after my last two deals.
