Is it just me or does the top seem to close really rough. Jerking hard and shaking the car. It seems really rough compared to some of the other convertibles I've been in. Is this normal? Is there a way to loosen it up a bit? Or is it just a "shut up, you have a hot car, deal with it" type of thing?

I definitely don't have THAT problem.
The reason I ask this is specifically because I was just in an Eclipse Spyder last week, and the top mechanism was SOOO smooth, it was like the car wasn't doing anything at all. It made me wonder...

I'll play around with it a little this evening, and see if there's some fun little adjustment screw or something I can turn that'll make it silky.
Mine makes one noticeable jerk when it's opening. You can see one of the joints near the roof part of the top buckle as it goes from straight to angled (bad explanation I know).
Whenever I go to the dealer I"m going to show them.

Let us know if the dealer has anything helpful to say about it.
come on guys, this isn't a luxury car ... just be glad that it gets tuck under the hard top tonneau ... There's no other vert out there that will do this automatically and still be under $37k.
well, none that I can think of, I know the new Solstice and Skys have their tops tucked under the tonnea but you have to get outside of you car and do it manually. And yes the pontiac G6 does it automatically but where talking about sports cars here.

Of course it's not a luxury car. But you'd think that such a prominently used mechanism, in a vehicle purchased explicitly for that mechanism, would function in a bit more appealing fashion.
That being said, the migraine I came up with last night went a long way for me not being able to poke at my top. This weekend, however...

It is a little rough, but not bad enough to bother me.
