Slight Ringing Noise
I have a new 2005 350Z Roadster with 6,000 miles. Recently, I'vebeen hearing a slight pinging noise from the right side of the car when I slightly accelerate. It almost sounds like coins rattling. I can tap the gas pedal over and over and each time the ringing noise will sound especially in closed in areas like a parking garage. Anyone with information as to what it could be, please give me your feedback. THANKS!!

I had a similar problem. Nissan diagnosed it and replaced the fuel dampener. The dealer couldnt hear it initially but later admitted they could. The noise I had sounded like a very rapid but very faint drum beat as I tapped the acccelerator. Similar to what you are describing, you could only hear it in quiet places and only at low revs. I couldn't hear any noise when the car was cold but could defintely hear it when it warmed up. The noise also got slightly louder as the weeks went by. All fixed now though which is good. Good luck pal.
Thanks for the replies. It's definitely not a clicking noise. It's more like a ringing sound. I will let the dealer know about the fuel dampener. The service guy at the dealership told me over the phone that it sounds like a loose exhaust cover just under the car. Said it could have been scraped underneath lightly and loosened up.

hmmm, my Z is doing this also, I noticed it about 3-4 days ago, only happens really in first, and a little bit in 2nd gear.
Its quite noticeable in first gear, its like a very light squealing sound. I swear its coming from the passenger side, sounds like its coming from the rear axle.
Its barely noticeable with the windows up, but with it getting cooler here I'm enjoying the low humidity and like to have the windows down when leaving work, thats when I hear it the most, I guess i'll get the dealer to check it out when I get it serviced.
