Ok am going to slightly mod my ZR which is a 6 speed enthusiast '06 and though expense is always an issue, I want specific results at the end. Goals are listed right below.
1. Better stoppping power without the risk of fade. Fade biggest issue
2. Better handling but nothing bone jarring. This car is a toy.
3. A little quicker but not interested in forced induction hassle
4. Relatively stock sound but it can be louder but characteristic sound a must
Mods to achieve #1
In my previous cars I went with a SS lines, KVR x-drilled rotors, and Porterfield R4-S pads. Never have had a rotor crack but this car may be tracked (road course) as well as running the dragon periodically, I will not be going the rotor route. I am figuring on the same Porterfield pads and a good set of SS lines, One of the better 5.1 brake fluids and call it a day.I hope that will suffice for th occasional track day I hope to do and the dragon runs which are just ***** out fun.
#2 mods
The Nismo spring and strut package with a good set of sway bars. No idea about the bars for this car but know I don't want anything crazy agressive. Just want to tighten the whole package up for lessbody roll and improved cornering. Most likely will find a 9.5 in rear and 8.5 inch front rim if I ever find anything in those sizes that fit the criteria of same weight or less than stock, looks on my ZR, and cost.
#3 this one is the hardest because it conflicts wih #4. I already have the Nismo exhaust and flat love the sound. If getting the Nismo headers would give a few extra ponies and keep the sound then I am sold already. I also figure a popcharger would be inline as I do not see needing the CAI as anything necessary to make any mower power than the JWT popcharger. Last but not least the wild card I am thinking would be the perfect addition would be the 3.9 rear end gears. I'll never be anywhere or want to drive faster than the 158 mph speed limiter anyway.
So anyway give me your thoughts negative and positive, but if you are going to say for what this will cost you ought to go FI then don't waste your time nor mine.
TIA

And what do you mean by braking power? Shorter distances will only be had with more traction from grippier tires. Fade resistance is almost entirely about heat capacity. Pads will help that a little but SS lines, not at all. That's only a pedal firmness mod.
Would also help if you posted the year(model assumed from screen name) of your Z as the MREV+ will really only yield those numbers on a revup motor.
I have the Nismo Suspension and Nismo Sway bars on my Roadster, you definatly won't be disappointed.. I think adding the Nismo Headers might increase the sound of the exhaust some, but it shouldnt be to big of a change.
If you wanted to go with a little more aggresive front bumper, the bumper I have from stillen has air ducts that dump air onto your brakes to help keep them cool and reduce brake fade...

I have an 06 with the revup and I am not as concerned with stopping distances as I am about them giving out after a few hot laps or so I've heard. I know the lines don't do anything for distance but do give a very positive brake feel. Will do more research on the Mrev+. How heavy are a set of ruff 18x9.5 278 rims if anyone knows? Thanks for replies.
