Default my '04 350ZR

here's two pics of my car from last night..

its a 2004 touring 6spd. sittin on NISMO rims (18x8.5 front and 18x10 rear) and i have a full Injen exhaust... i just got the car so i havnt really decided what else i want to do to it.

the pics look identical cause i didnt move the tripod ... left it in the same spot for both shots..

im thinking of powder coating the rims black and leaving the lip polished... or should i keep it as is. i figure the black rims will match the black rag top...

Looks nice Anthony and powder coating the wheels would real good. I've got a Roadster too that I've done some work to. Any questions let me know.

Don't ruin nice rims by powder coating them...

IMO Powder Coating = Ghetto

Looks hot now, I would just keep it as is.. If you really want black rims buy some that have a polished lip....

they do have a polished lip already. and what is the difference in powder coating rims black then buying the same set already in black??? its the same thing after all said and done no? these were on the car when i bought it so they werent my first choice. i've never really been a fan of silver rims. im more of a gunmetal, bronze, or black rim guy.

i have a question though. i know these cars have that drive by wire throttle so i cant sit there and power brake my car cause once i touch the brakes it cuts my throttle. whats the way to bypass that? i bought this car to have a little enjoyment with since my last 2 cars were AWD and not being able to a burnout standing still is kind of a dissapointment.

First off, those are some impressive pictures. You have a talent in that area.

I agree on keeping the car for a while before deciding on what to do next. Those rims look almot OEM performance upgrade. They blend cleanly with the rest of the car. If you want to paint them, I think powder coat would dull them out too much. May i suggest a hyper-black or gunmetal paint with a nice clear coat to make them shine!
If you hold in the traction control button for a few seconds to disable it, I am sure you can get a nice burnout.

Let me rephrase that, powder coating them all black looks ghetto IMO, I didn't catch your statement that you were going to keep the lip polished... Still black powder coating looks rather dull, I would go with hyper-black rims with a polished lip (which Marshall2k mentioned) or go gunmetal, again this is just my opinion.

I saw this subject on another thread before, I believe you need to remove a fuse that will disable it so you can power brake... If you do a search you should be able to find which fuse you need to pull...

Take a trip to a good powder coater when you get a chance, they have tons of colors one of them being a Gloss Black or the same as Hyper Black. They even have some Candy Colors now.

I would not powdercoat wheels! Your ZR is hotttt as is!
It will have a dull look & you better expect imperfections & dust particles with the powdercoating. IMHO don't do it!

i think im gonna have my friends shop wrap the lower middle part below my grill of my front bumper in CF... i LOVE the way my car looks but it looks too stock for me. i dont wanna do a body kit or anything gaudy but i want some clean subtle changes ya know?

i wanna hear some feedback on what you guys think would look good ...? the nissan burgers are also gonna go and im puttin the one with the Z on instead...

Would be a pity to powder coat those rims IMO. Very nice ZR.

although that is rather nice i wanna stay away from a doin any kind of spoiler on the roadster cause they only look good with a kit and i dont wanna add a kit. its my daily driver and its low enough as it is. if i had a lower front bumper and sideskirts i i would scrape it every morning pullin into the driveway at my job.

but i do like the way it looks... jus curious. what sideskirts are those??
