Ok, here's the deal: I just got an email from Gruppe-S (HELIX) and the exhaust for the 350z that I ordered a month ago, has been backordered and is out of production till the spring sometime. Ok, I put a downpayment and I called the Shop that I ordered it from, and asked what could be done about this, because I ain't waiting that long. The owner said I have 2 choices, one is a Invidia g200 Dual(currently in the shop) which a customer got the wrong order received and he would give it to me brand new installed for $800 which he bought for $1200, or I could order another exhaust such as the Apexi Ws2 and hope it won't backordered this time. I need tell the owner by tomorrow morning what my decision will be. Please help. I don't know what I should do. Thanks in advance.
If you are not gettng what you ordered when it was promised, you should have the option of accepting the substitute if it's acceptable to you or not. If the substitute is not acceptable then you should get your deposit back. Period. It should be your call completely. You should approach the shop with logic and firmness and not threatning them. You would like this resolved amicably. Confrontation from the get go should be avoided. Good luck.

So, I actually was thinking of using the downpayment for a set of rims, and then buy tires at the shop when the rims get in since it usually takes around a week or so for just rims=this is what I was gonna ask if I could do, but instead, the owner immediately responded about the Invidia G200 exhaust, and giving me a killer deal dropping the $1200 down to $800 since I was a good customer and the exhaust was sitting in the shop for awhile. Do you think I should jump on this deal since its so cheap or should I risk another special order thru the shop and wait? I could buy this exhaust tomorrow installed, but Im really on the fence now since I waited for so long.
So, jump on the Invidia G200 for $800 and free install, or special order another exhaust and wait who knows how long? Or what would you do? This Invidia is a true dual and the Apexi Ws2. Its a really tough decision at this point.

I just heard like a ton of Invidia G200 video/sound clips and I don't like the sound at all. Its nothing even close to the Helix or Apexi Ws2. I think Im just gonna order a Dual Apexi Ws2 exhaust instead.
I don't know anything about any of these exhausts, so I am no help there.
I've got the stock exhaust on my 350 roadster. Which I think sounds pretty good for stock. I've got a Flowmaster which is a bit louder than I like on my 300zx -convertible and I've got a Borla on my Miata. The Borla sounds real nice. Not real loud, just about right for me.
As long as the shop is fair with you that's the main thing. Enjoy the sounds. I just noticed you are in Hawaii, I'm very envious. Top down weather every day and sweet sounds from the Z. What could be better.

Yeah, I just talked w/ the shop owner and he's really cool about it and was trying his best to work something out w/ me. He was telling me the Invidia will be better than the Apexi Ws2 because the Apexi still needs to change out the Y-pipe and stock cats, which are the most restricted parts of the exhaust. It will actually come out to a lot more money if I went with the Apexi Ws2. He was also saying that the Invidia will see better power gains with the crossover and then a Ecu reflash because of better flow. More air and then more fuel will be delivery which will=more power. The Apexi Ws2 is just an axle back. What made me confused was that if ordered something from the mainland again, it might get backordered or will take a long time. The Z has been w/o a power mod since October 2006. Im hungry for some more mods. ahaha.
I was researching a lot on this Invidia true dual and a lot of people like the sound. Another few have added a crossover pipe to even out the sound and pulses to make it sound cleaner and get some more low-end torque. I told the owner that I'll try it without the pipe and with to see the difference. I might go tomorrow to the shop and get it done. Im one crazy SOB.
