Default 2004 info (including convertible)

Ok, first things first. Some of this info is old news, but some of it (mainly convertible) is new.

2004 350Z Coupe

There are only *two* changes to the 2004 and both have to do with color. As many of us know, Brickyard has been discontinued and Liquid Silver has been added. Those are the two changes. There is NO YELLOW Everything else is exactly the same for the 2004 model(s).

2004 350Z Roadster

2 Trim Levels:

1. Touring 6MT/5AT
2. Tracking 6MT/5AT (I have no idea why they have chosen to initially call this trim level "Tracking" It's basically an Ethusiast model.)

Here comes the weird part as far as color combinations go.

All colors are available in the Touring trim line, however, Liquid Silver is not available in the *Tracking* trim line.

There are two different color roofs....black and blue.

Daytona Blue and PPW are only available with frost interior and a blue roof....nothing else.

CS, DB, and PPW are the only colors available with a blue roof....the rest are black.

SB, SS, Lemans, & Liquid Silver are available with Burnt Orange leather, as well as black, in the touring trim.

This is all I can remeber for right now....if you have any questions, feel free to ask and I'll try and give you an answer.

I second this request. In fact, some of your info above contradicts itself...

Daytona Blue and PPW are only available with frost interior and a blue roof....nothing else.

CS, DB, and PPW are the only colors available with a blue roof....the rest are black.
Can you clarify?

I'd like to know as well. I can't see them not having a Base model. Also, doesn't make sense to have 3 silvers

DB and PPW are only available with a blue roof....black is not an option for these two colors.

The blue roof is only available on the following three colors....CS, DB, and PPW.

In other words, you can get the CS with either a blue or black top.

My source is the spec sheets from Nissan themselves.

There is no base model in the convertible......only Touring and Tracking.

Three Silvers is a little ridiculous, I agree, but it is what it is.

There was no pricing on the spec sheets, sorry.

<---- even more happy he has no shade of silver what so ever.

thanks for the info tho, cool stuff.

not suprising about the trim packages, they dont intend on selling too many convertable, so theyd rather target them to the higher cost people, if you dont have that much money, you can have a hard top. kinda keeps the convertable as a bit of a higher class....

Three silvers is a lot. I would expect them to drop one in 2005... but then again, I didn't expect them to have 3 silvers for 2004. lol

You'll have to wiat until at least 2005 then, because there won't be any yellow on the 2004's.

I've also heard that there will only be 5,000 roadsters produced a year as compared to the 30,000 coupes.

Stone Z... thanks for the clarification.

If you're info is correct, it has made my decision easy. I had been contemplating upgrading to a convertible or putting a TT on my coupe.

Since I couldn't get Brickyard, I was considering going Daytona Blue, but if it only comes with a blue top..
and no desire to join the "army of silver" Nissan is changing things to...

No interest in the other colors... so I guess I keep pocketing my pennies for a twin turbo kit!

No yellow and liquid silver!? Really? Maybe Nissan is taking my advice!??

But where'd they get this blue roof thing? Are there any pics around here to show what that is?

Can you explain comment #2? Why do you say the roadster track model is really an enthusiast model? Does it not have VDC? Does it not get the Brembos and Rays wheels?

When I heard the Roadtsre was only coming in Touring and Track I was leaning towards track, but that sort of depends on why you say it is really an enthusiast model.

Thanks in advance.

The convertible will be here in June or soemthing like that. I think the rest of the 2004s will be here in August. (At least that's how it's normally done!)

There is no roadster Track Model, as I previously stated. For some reason, they (Nissan) are intially referring to a trim level which resembles the Enthusiast coupe, as far as options go, as "Tracking". This is obviously confusing and a bit misleading as it has already brought some confusion to the table even within this thread.

Geez, am I the only one who understood you the first time?! The colors, the tracking model, etc, all made sense...

Reading comprehension.
