Do you drive your Roadster as a daily driver???
Drive ZR every chance I get (usually March through October), unless I need more than 2 seats, or it is raining and/or too cold (below 45*). That's when Maxima or MDX take over.
Always drive ZR with the top down. Had only driven it once with the top up in the last 10 months of ownership.

DD March/April through mid-November, but that's pleasure trips, not commuting as I'm not working. I don't take it out if it's snowy or icy. Have HP summer tires and I don't feel like buying winter tires for this area (Northern Virginia) just for the few days a year when I'd really need them.
Bought the car exactly a year ago, has 6,000 miles on it as of this a.m.
Other car is a 2000 Maxima, approaching 100,000 miles. We're aiming to get 200,000 before we sell.

As for no top-up driving: Why miss out on the performance of the Z in the winter months just b/c of the ragtop? I love to hear the roar of my Borla in Jan. just as much as in July.
Not flaming at all, and this may not apply at all to you, mg350ZR, but I'll admit I don't understand those who consider themselves "enthusiasts" of a particular car, but really only drive it as a "toy," as some in this thread admitted. If you really "love your Z," surely you'd put more than several thou. mi. per yr. on her. I guess some enthusiasts just don't seem very "enthusiastic" to me.
Note you're in Nashville. Do you need to buy winter tires/rims there?
Here in No.Va., we're just on that borderline. Personally, I don't feel it's worth the money to buy tires that would be *necessary* maybe two weeks or so out of the year. I just don't take it out on those days. Small price to pay, IMHO.
Plus - I really don't trust other drivers around here in bad weather. Just not worth the risk to my expensive car - er, "toy." ;-)

daily. +/-~1k miles / month. mostly highway mileage. had it since 03/2006. loving every second of the ride. pampered too well, gets oil changes @ 2.5k miles, hand wiped daily. i'm probably the freshest magnetic black in the area. people say i love my car too damn much. i told them, why sign papers for a $40k+ sports convertible and not drive it? it's all different prospectives and opinions in owning vehicles. some people like to keep low mileage in hopes of a better resale value in the future. i would say average mileage a year shouldn't exceed 15k miles a year. my two cents.

The term "snow tires," at least as far as my usage, is really a misnomer, as I don't buy them for driving in snow, per se, but rather cold temps. The rubber compound is VERY different from max. performance summer tires, which in my experience have poor grip in anything below 40 degrees, and are downright dangerous below 30 degrees, even in stone dry weather. This has been my experience with several types of summer tires: Goodyear F1 GS-D3s, Michelin Pilot Sports & Pilot PS2s, Bridgestone S-02s, etc.
Most days in December through March (excluding the heat wave we had here recently the last weeks of Mar. this yr), I leave for work with the temp in the 20s or 30s, so my summers come off in Dec. and go back on in late Mar. to early April.
Like you, I also try to avoid any snow or ice w/my baby.

Didn't realize it got that cold in Nashville. We were there for a few days last summer (stayed at Grand Ol' Opry Resort, yeee-haw!) and had a great time.
Anyway - what kind of winter tires did you get, and how much were they? I was very aware of temps and weather forecasts and just didn't take the Z out if things looked dicey. This past winter was the first one for this car. Maybe if we ever get our garage cleaned out enough to have enough space for four extra tires, I might get the winter set this year.
Or not. I can manage without the Z, sharing the Maxima with my husband when weather demands it.

This was my first winter w/Dunlops, and I still have way more than half the tread left. They may last through the '08-'09 winter. I run still run 225s on the front, but step down to a 235 in rear, on 18s. Summers, of course, I run the common 245/275 set up on aftermarket rims.
BTW, I just put "Nashville area" in my profile rather than try to explain where I live, it's so out in the boonies, but I'm a littlenNorth of Nashvegas, about 8 miles south of the KY line, and regularly drive a ton of twisty blacktops, so slippery tires just won't do. Glad you enjoyed your recent trip to our little corner of the world, though.
Daily Driven 2004 Silverstone with grey top. I bought it used in November of 04 with 5000 miles on it and today it has 35,000 miles on it. I drive and enjoy my Z Roadster everyday. What a waste otherwise.
every day!!! bought it used year ago with around 12k miles?! don't remember exactly...
anyways, my baby has 36k now....
****....that's a lot of miles in just one year!!!
hmmmm....come to think of it....I did do alot of road-trips with my fiance....oh-well...

I live in southern maryland and drive mine about the same as you. I do commute with it during the summer months cause I live about 5 miles from work so its nice. I have had my car about 3 weeks now and put about 700 miles on it but that is because I bought it in RIchmond, drove it from there to VB and then VB back to MD.
My other car is a 2003 Pontiac Sunfire. I am not looking forward to getting back in a that thing when it is time to put my Z away for the winter. I just got my califonia car cover for my Z and I love it. I am only 5'5, about 125 so I was worried about being able to put the cover on alone but it really is easy. I love my car no questions asked.
What color - could be red because you've got the little dancing man in red??
We've had gorgeous weather for roadsters these last few days, haven't we. I've already got a good start on my "roadster tan" on my arms.
