I wonder why this is a "roadster only" feature?

Maybe the point is just to tell you that the headlights are on? Otherwise, especially just at dusk, it's easy to forget to turn your lights on, since the headlights aren't automatic, and the dashboard is always illuminated. I've been driving around sometimes on well-lit city streets not realizing that my own headlights aren't on when they should be.

Turn your headlights on. A little yellow dot of light will appear between the two map lights between the visors. Also, the shift indicator letters will light up (if you have an AT).
I don't think there's enough output from the little yellow dot of light to actually illuminate anything. It's just a reminder that your headlights are on, is all.
Or if you're driving around at dusk and the little yellow dot is NOT on, then turn on your headlights already. It's easy to overlook it because the dashboard illumination is always on.

The LED light output was so low. I didn't even notice it when it was on. So I took it apart and changed out the LED with one of those high power one and now it works great. I think the Bimmer has it first. I like it so much, I even added one to my SUV..
