Default What is that yellow dot? 2007 Roadster

Can someone tell me what the yellow led light next to the dome light switch is on a 2007 Z Roadster. My wife used to have a 2004 and I don't remember this light.

This is a 2007 Roadster Touring. There is a switch that controls the dome light operation, whether or not the light comes on with the doors. Next to this switch, there is a small yellow LED circle that is usually on, but not always.

Anyone know what this LED is and what it indicates?

In the dark it will illuminate the shifter and center console area.

Thanks for the reply, but I'm not sure we're talking about the same thing. The little yellow LED doesn't have enough illumination to light anything. It is next to the switch that controls whether the dome light comes on when a door is open.

Nobody else has any ideas? Come on, this forum is full of smart people.

yeah...the yellow dot is to keep away bugs from crawling into your exhaust pipes...otherwise, it may cause your pipes to cook bugs and makes it very smelly for cars behind you...

You guys are funny.

From your responses, I take it you don't know the answer. So I took it to the dealer. They said it was my shift light.

Seriously, WTF is that light for? I'll try and post a pic later.

Did your new car not come with an Owner's Manual?

Hi Bill. As a matter of fact, it did come with an owner's manual. I even read it. After I didn't find the answer, I posted the question. Any other brilliant comments?

MANY people have posted questions in the past, without reading the manual.

Could it be the passenger side, air bag indicator light?

It isn't the passenger side air bag, it is a little light next to it. The passenger side air bag has it's own indication.

Bluetooth isn't available in the Roadster. It is possible that Nissan left some Bluetooth indicator there. I didn't read about Bluetooth in the manual because I don't have Bluetooth. I'll go and read it and see if it mentions anything.

thats the light to illuminate your shifter at night... at least thats what i have on my roadster, and seems to be in the same location that you described. A Honda accord coupe also has this... its just a nice little touch.

As I told before guys it really to illuminate the shifter area at night.
I should not irritate thefore the output is very low and only works when it is really dark.
Check the function, it will only comes on when the headlamps are on.

There is nothing mentioned in my Owners Manual about this LED.

Yep my Honda Accord coupe has the same light, just enough light to shine on the shifter, and maybe read something quick without the blinding dome light ( i have super light sensitive eyes so i have all my lights in the car dimmed to nothing lol, my friends think im weird, i think it looks cool anyway.

Marky, I have the same light in my 2005 ZR. I've noticed it a few times. I never really wondered what it was for.
