He never waxes it. He paid the dealer to put a special sealant and protectorant on the car so it never needs to be waxed. If the shines goes away or if he has some type of new body part put on for me he takes it back to the dealer for a new coat.

Products used are:
Mr. Clean spotless wash system
Invisible glass cleaner
Eagle one tire shine
Coral water
Simple Green 50/50 mixture
Black Magic pro shine
special brush for the intercooler
special brush and towels for the insde of the wheels
special brush for the engine bay
Raggtopp products for the vert top
transparent tape
Playtex latex gloves
Swiffer Duster

He uses some other products but he won't share those with me or anyone else. LOL people always tease him the car looks dirty when they enter our house thru the garage. He can't take a joke. LOL
A. There's really no such thing as "expensive" microfiber towel. Unless 5 bones for several towels sounds expensive.

B. The dealership would be the last place I would take my car to get detailed, unless you like swirl marks.

C. I hate to break it to you but wax or anything similar to what your man uses all perform the same task. They help "protect" your car's finish.

mine said the same thing. that was after i asked them about cleaning/protecting it, and they looked at me like i was from outer space--like the thought had never crossed their mind.

The Aerospace 303 comes with a cleaner that can be used on both fabric and vinyl tops.

The difference is in the protectant. They make a specific protectant for both.

Vinyl/Synthetic

Fabric/Cloth

Just ordered the Aerospace 303 for my top and will be sending back my can of unused Raggtopp fabric protectant. Unfortunately, this past Fall I did use a can of the fabric protectant but atleast I know what to get from know on.

As far as the Dealer's "Super Magic Protectant" for your cars paint....all they use is Synthetic polish/wax. You can usually expect maybe up to six months (at the most) of protectant. I prefer Carnauba waxes as they give me a better shine and they are easy to work with.

$9 a towel is expensive to me. They are much more absorbent and softer the the ones you buy in packages of 2 or more.

The dealer protectorant is guaranteed for 7 years to protect the paint and comes with a warranty. The dealer has redone the car, for free, everytime I had new body parts put on and painted. As for wearing off, LOL, the last time I had some graphics put on it took eons for the shop guys to sand off the protectorant. It is much better than wax.

Swirl marks, maybe you guys go to the wrong dealers.

It is called the Protector Environmental Overcoat Paint Protection System and comes with a 7 year warranty. It was a bargain compared to what it costs to pay to have a car detailed here.

In Florida paint fades quickly especially dark colors like black, blue, red, etc.
That is why you must protect the finish and wax is not really good enough.

Great info.

I hadn't even thought about protecting the top either. I thought just soap and water was enough!

For me the BEST protectant is ZAINO. Just make sure to follow SAL'S direction carefully.

His stuff really is great & works!!

I just ordered the 303 convertible top care and cleaning kit as pictured in the blue box above, as well as some brush recommended to be safe for our tops - oxo feathered cleaning brush...so I guess I will see when my stuff gets here...I am sure it will work great because a lot of people recommend it, and haven't heard of anything better.

Used Zaino for a year or two, but what a PIA - way too labor intensive for long term use. Went back to wax. Makes life easier IMO
