Our tops are vinyl and not fabric.

I like 303 Aerospace Protectant. I clean the top with each wash (weekly) and use the Protectant every other week. This might also be beneficial to you: How to Detail Convertible Tops

I have my man clean it once a week whether it needs it or not. LOL I help him if we are going to a car show to make sure it is done up to my specs.

He uses some type of special wash system and a soft sponge to wash it. He drys it with expensive microfiber towels. He uses a different color for the body, the windows, the wheels, under the hood, etc.

He never waxes it. He paid the dealer to put a special sealant and protectorant on the car so it never needs to be waxed. If the shines goes away or if he has some type of new body part put on for me he takes it back to the dealer for a new coat.

Products used are:
Mr. Clean spotless wash system
Invisible glass cleaner
Eagle one tire shine
Coral water
Simple Green 50/50 mixture
Black Magic pro shine
special brush for the intercooler
special brush and towels for the insde of the wheels
special brush for the engine bay
Raggtopp products for the vert top
transparent tape
Playtex latex gloves
Swiffer Duster

He uses some other products but he won't share those with me or anyone else. LOL people always tease him the car looks dirty when they enter our house thru the garage. He can't take a joke. LOL

It's really about the protectant rather than the cleaner.

Using a fabric protectant on a Vinyl top is NOT GOOD. You might want to NEVER do that again.

Here's a thread that might help.

https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....ace+Protectant

I use 303 Aerospace proctetant. Works very well. Just remember 350Z roadsters have a VINYL/SYNTHETIC top NOT a fabric/cloth top.

Well isn't that a B**ch!. My local Nissan dealer told me the material was made of canvas(dumb asses). I did do some research because of this thread and did find out that you are correct. I hope I didn't damage the top by using the fabric protectant instead of the vinyl. Atleast I know, now.

Sorry If I came off like an a$$. You should be fine, but if I were you I'd give your local nissan dealer a piece of your mind.

Do you know what the name of the protectorant/ system that was used on your car by the dealer?
