Default handling on ice

About a week ago I had to make a 800 mile trip. Not thinking I drove the Z . The weather where I live was 65 so without looking at the weather We took Z . What a mistake about 1/2 way there it started raining which about 100 miles more turned to ice which turned to snow and blizzard. I could or should say would only drive 35 to 40 in 5th gear. When the car would break loose it was the easiest rear wheel drive car I have owned to bring back . It took 3 hrs more plus this was at night and when We got to out destination [Rochester Minnesota] We had 8in of snow on top of the ice. It was not fun but did not feel unsafe or got stuck thats saying quite a bit with summer tires on it. Nissan did an excellent job on putting this car together for handling even though it was not made for this.

Yup - try the same trip with snow tires and watch all those damn SUVs slide into the ditch with their all seasons.

my all season tires hold up so far on ice and snow! We have a couple snow and ice stomps here in Wichita, Kansas. And I drive it to work every day!
But then again, I know how to drive(I think, lol)

ohh man last year here in jerzee i experienced that driving home about 1 in the morn from my gf's house on some backroads that i can whip the z on. .was nice n clear until about 15 miles aways out of nowhere i hit snow doin about 50 and bam right into a blizzard. .was so bad cause i swear i saw my life flash b4 me. .specially in the boonies. .regardless i made it home a tad longer then usual driving in 4th and 5th. .minimal slippage i was daring myself to drift each turn. .but never did. .sniff. .

last month my car spun out coming right out of my office complex in baltimore...

i controlled it, got scared (hehehe) and said screw this, im going back to work.

i went to turn right back around, keep in mind only a few yards from work, and it spun out of control again...

slid right into a 6 inch tall curb.... i lose

half the bumper was ripped off... thank goodness that was all that happened..

im never driving in the ice/snow w/ my z ever again ahaha

how do you people do it? We've had constant snow and ice over here in Idaho for about a month, not one scary experiance, although, some fun ones in empty parking lots. You just have to be careful... sorry bout your bumper!

*summer tires too, cant afford a second set right now.

The Z is no different than the S2000 in the snow.....in both cases you NEED snow tires or your rolling the dice.

Okay I wanted to make sure there wasn't something I was missing. I had some good all season ultra high performance tires on the S. I think something similiar on the Z and you should be okay.
