Default Regrets modding a auto roadster? (performance)

I, perhaps like most of you, purchased a roadster to cruise and enjoy the ride rather than be speed racer.

I was just curious if anyone has gone the N/A route of full bolt ons to their auto roadster and regret they had done so. I am considering going this route but I would feel dismayed if I basically "caught up" performance wise to that of a stock/near stock manual transmission HR coupe.

thoughts?

I don't regret my performance mods.

The only regret I have is not properly planning the first few NA mods before I went FI. I will not be able to get much for my exhaust, intake, cats, or Cams. I can only keep the spacer now. They only have a few hundred miles on some of them and a few thousand on most of the rest. I definitely passed up a stock 6MT coupe (I had one of those too, with Cams, Intake, and exhaust). My dyno with NA bolt-ons was 259RWHP, so nothing to be ashamed of. The stock on an auto roadster is about 215-225rwhp (from what I've seen), so a gain of at least 40. If I had mine tuned with these mods (recommended after Cams), I would have likely seen another 20hp (just my guess, so don't flame me if your guess is different ).

The nice thing about my previous setup (NA) was the cams make freeways a blast. The car was not that quick off the line, but it kept gaining horsepower straight up to redline. My 20" chrome wheels weight it down and the very heavy stereo system as well. It was still quite quick, though.

I'd say, as long as you plan your projects well you won't regret any modding you do. Have fun with it!

Yeah, it's a DB roadster with MTX amps and speakers, painted interior, and custom fiberglass box.

I went FI as of right this second! My car is still in the shop. Here are a few pics of it "under the knife."

Oops...my dyno was actually 255.9RWHP (I meant to type 256, but that damn keypad is too small for my fingers ).

I went FI on my 06 5AT ZR. I'm happy.
CF Top Half for exterior are the only exterior mods. Although, I have been contemplating putting the car back to stock and getting a new toy.

^That's going to be a painful process. My Original parts were used for design and mold, so I would need to replace with PPW parts again.

Not at all. The only "drone" noise came when I did the Kinetix High-Flow Cats along with the Motordyne plenum spacer. Not sure, but I think the cats are the cause. it's not that bad, but noticeable. the Nismo exhaust is pretty tame in terms of sound.

Thanks! I got them through Reality Custom Designs in Tempe, AZ. I don't remember how much they were, because they did all of my stereo and custom interior work at the same time. If you want, PM me and I'll give you the owner's cell #.

Sweet! They look good on the silver also. I have never seen my wheels on another car. I was actually told they were discontinued, but obviously you can still get them. I ordered new center caps recently, since someone stole them. What a pain!

Anyway, your ride looks great. Thanks for the comments.
