Default Roadster roof repair

Just had my ZR broken into and had the top slashed up pretty bad, although the slash is almost a perfect box with straight lines it's pretty big, they were able to get inside the car and steal a whopping $1.50 in nickels and pennies I keep in the tray. Are there any repair kits out there or hardtop options? I would have to pay a $500 deductible to have it happen again.

Nope, no hardtops, Although there have been a few rumors of some coming, but I've yet to see any...

Sucks that idiots have to do that kind of crap...

that's every roadster's owners worst nightmare.
im very sorry to hear it happened to you.

just curious, did you have your windows tinted?
i thought about leaving mine untinted to show them that I have nothing worth stealing inside.

That just sucks. People will do bad things wherever you go. If you have a hard top, they'll just break the window - I've heard it happens at my gym once in a while!
Hope you'll post the solution you choose, just for future reference.

No, I don't have an aftermarket alarm, I'm thinking about one now. I love my roadster, just pisses me off that someone would go through all that trouble for some spare change.

What sucks is it was parked in my carport and it was the only one vandalized.

No, I live in Cali and it's illegal to have to front windows tinted. I love the Z so I might try to trade it in for a roadster, I would just hate to pay a $500 deductible to have it happen all over again.

i feel ya. that'll probably raise your premiums as well.
came across this link. they mentioned a top could be patched up but the "scar" will still be there.

Even if there was a repair kit (which i don't think there is for vinyl)....it will cost you at least the $500 and it would look terrible.

I would just use the insurance and replace the whole top (which is a few grand).

But at the end of the day is there any real difference in terms of repair cost if you have insurance. If someone breaks into your hard top by breaking the window or ripping out the door look/handle.....its going to cost at least the deductable to repair.

thats why i leave my doors unlocked, with nothing valuable in the car. They are gonna get in no matter what, I figure i'd rather them open the door, rummage, and leave instead of cutting, rummaging and leaving. I've done that since my jeep back in 95

You would want to file an insurance claim and pay your deductible. If memory serves me, the cost at a dealership to replace your top is about $2400 plus install.

I also need to change my top due to a large gash.
I'm thinking of getting the top from topsonline.com... it's the cheapest I have found.
